Covering up shaft prep work on a pull and reshaft?

I bought a shaft pull and it's got a little too much prep work for my G25 tip/adaptor. Is it safe to cover up the prep with nail polish or something? Or any other suggestions?

This happened on my Bio Cell Pro.

My club builder pulled out his MacGyver kit and fashioned a miniature ferrule to go above the adapter.

It blends perfectly and you can't tell unless you really look at it.

Perfect fix.

anyone else ever paint it or use nail polish? My girl has an nail polish extensive collection I think i can match the color pretty well. lol

What length is the exposed prep area? You could tip the shaft a little bit more (obviously, with the trade-off of the shaft playing slightly firmer and the length being slightly shorter).

I've used a regular black sharpie on a matte black shaft and you can only tell when looking at it closely--if it is a gloss color I'm not sure what would work best but I don't think there is anything in nail polish that is going to eat away at the epoxy or the shaft material (someone who has some actual chemistry knowledge please correct me if I'm wrong).

I've used nail polish to cover up tip prep without any issues although my color matching skills aren't that good on shafts like the fubuki.

use a peice of black shrink wrap to cover the prep marks

Yea I have oban kiyoshi purple so I just gonna go nail polish route I think.

I've used longer ferrules, turned down the nick so I don't see it at address, tip trimmed, and painted. All of them are okay to do.

Nail polish is fine. I've used it before with no issues.

I took a ferrule and turned it down until it is flush with the adapter

I agree with this. Ferrules are cheap and come in many different lengths. I just shafted an Aldila NV with more prep than my Cleveland tip plus factory ferrule could cover.

Installed with longer ferrule and problem solved.

Testors model paint is another alternative.

They make a split ferrule you can add after
Shaft is installed. Then turn it down to match.

Do you think this would work with iron shafts pulls. I had an issue when reshafting some pings (no ferrals) and the pulls showed some prep work when fully inserted. Would shrink wrap stop them rusting?

yes it would . the metal wouldnt be exposed to air it wouldnt rust.

Fyi I know it's too late, but Billy bobs has adapters that have a longer insertion depth than the stock ones.
