[/quote]I'm very intrigued with the Nunchuk. I just got one to put in a TM Stage 2 Tour Issue 20* hybrid and have been stalking the iron shaft. Just curious if you still like them and what you swing speed is.

Have used Nunchuk since 2011.
Every club has Nunchuk, except the putter, just like John Daly.

The longer the shaft is, the more flexible, twist and droop prone it becomes. By volume, HM graphite is stiffer than steel. The larger the head and the heavier the head, the greater the effects of flex, twist and droop on the shaft.

Steel shafts are comprised of an homogenous material, meaning that the structure is completely uniform in composition. In the steel shafts you have an homogeneus tube that has been shaped into what you see as the end shaft, tapered, stepped, whatever.
With fiber technology it is very different; one can lay the fibers in a vast array of configurations to achieve differing results which cannot be done with steel. Put briefly; a fiber laid at zero divergence to the axis has it's greatest resistance to being BENT but its lowest resistance to TWIST. A fiber laid tangential to the axis progressively increase its resistance to TWISTING while lowering its resistance to BENDING.

With this in mind, I divided the NUNCHUK into three very distinctive, individual segments/ components where each has been designed and constructed to carry out certain fundamental functions and also to resolve certain critical areas of error. I then brought it all together into a single functioning whole which exhibits as the NUNCHUK shaft.

As Jason states, there is far more to the NUNCHUK technology than mere stiffness. I applaud Jason's display of respect for the fact that I am bound by a contract relative to how much of that technology I can declare in the public domain. I would declare more if I could.

So Steelfiber and Recoils seem to be the popular way to go.

 

I have the Xcaliber in my driver and absolutely love that. Has anyone got any experience of the Xcaliber iron shafts?

 

I just installed 4 in a set of irons (7-PW). Playing them today and will report back.

 

Any updates?

 

Another surgery delayed updating. Stayed off forums, etc. while healing/rehab. I hope to play this week! I hate when things break inside me :(
