Jackson Hole, WY/Teton Valley, ID Golf - Current conditions

Quick post to say that we are enjoying dry, beautiful autumn weather this week, with highs in the 60's

 

Played Teton Pines (Palmer course) in Jackson Hole this past Saturday, Oct 4, and the course is in amazing shape and the greens fees are a very reasonable $65, since September 22, and they aren't aerating their greens this fall, so no bumpy greens and fairways.

 

Teton Springs in Victor, ID (just on the west side of Teton Pass) is also playing great, and they won't aerate their greens until they close for the year. Greens fees are $105 and $75 for twilight after 2 pm.

Great layout and conditioning here.

 

Teton Reserve - Victor, ID - they aerated their greens 1-2 weeks ago, and condition is improving. I like this Hale Irwin layout and it's good conditioning (better than previous years). They've got a nice practice facility as well.

 

The Links at Teton Peaks - Driggs, ID. This more "everyman" course is a fun layout with a laid back vibe. You can bring your dog, who will be stoked on the ponds. You may even seem moose in the ponds. Kevin Foster'ish layout (think it was designed by a guy who used to work with Kevin Foster).

 

Current sunset time is 7 pm.

 

Looks like we'll have good weather here through the weekend, and winter could arrive any time after that...

Paid their $75 twilight greens fee for late season after 2 pm.

Nobody on the course and the course is in great shape.

It was a beautiful sunny day with highs in the upper 60's

Course maintenance was underway with fairways being mown, so 150 poles were pulled whose caps give pin position (front, middle, back).

I got a rangefinder from the pro shop at the turn, which helped.

Before that, I was driving up to the greens for a look to see where the pin was before I would hit my approaches.

This was ok, given nobody else was on course.

Really had a great day, notwithstanding the maintenance on the course (greens won't be punched until they close, likely around 10/17).

I played the Palmer course...hmmm... 5 years ago and loved that course. I'll be looking forward to playing some rounds with you next year.

sounds good...

some snow up high as the temps creep back up after our first snow to the valley floor on Monday am.

up to upper 50's/low 60's for tomorrow and Friday.

could be one of last opportunities for golf this year in these parts.

Here we are, almost 10 years later...

 

I'm back in the Tetons with my family.

 

We are seeing of first courses opening (Idaho side of the Tetons) opening this week.

 

Looking forward to playing outside again!

 

Links at Teton Peaks has been open since Wednesday, April 24.

 

Teton Reserve is due to open May 3.
