Morning Gents :)

I don't include the ladies cuz again, there's no way in hell they would be caught dead in here, lol.

Let me get clear of this wreckage...

Ok...

I love when I get "scientific confirmation" of something that I treated as fact!

Pertaining to my intellectual capacity, yes that feels good, though when it confirms something pertaining to my looks, well, I leave it at I'm squealin like a lil girl at her first surprise BD Party!!

Over the top :)

And so it is with great pride that I present this most recent study along with the pre-patch avatar that I submitted for the study :)

LMAO, maybe this is where "double blind" studies came from ;)

Have a great Day :)

My Best,
Richard

When I first joined, I never knew there were so many bas a$$, internet keyboard ninjas ready to tell someone their opinion was worthless because they have less than 100 feedback or XX # of posts and didn't play to handicap X.

These days, I'll read a thread that I have no interest in when I see some of the hilarious dudes above have posted something just because I want a good laugh and usually get it. I love seeing guys combat some of the negativity on here with humor and thinking outside the typical WRX box.

I always love the dichotomy of the guy on wrx with 5 full bags and a backup bag looking to find that extra 3 yards to go from a 2 cap to a 1 and the guy I see in a Sunday scramble playing with 20 year old pings, has 9 total clubs in his bag that's held together with a bungee cord that has to bum 2 beers from me on 16 because he already drank his 12 pack on the front 9(no cooler mind you, just put an actual 12 pack in the cart). We're all chasing something, it's usually just not the same thing.
Ahh the beauty of the internet. Everyone can say what they want with little to no repercussion outside of what someone types back. Which to me is sad, because you never know whose on the other end, and if its on this forum, your demeaning someone about golf.. and while golf is a big thing to all of us, too many lose perspective that it is just a game, and to me, theres no reason to be a d*ck about a game, especially to people you don't know ANYTHING about, I'm no hippie, and I've been less than pleasant to plenty people for various reasons, but I don't think theres much about golf that'd be worth the animosity that I see sometimes.

On a side note, I was present for an instance in which a good friend of mine ran into someone at the local watering hole who he recognized that was being an a$$ via social media and definitely didn't think he would ever meet my friend face to face, but by a chance of fate, we were all located in the same area. It was a beautiful thing to watch:).
Now that would be funny Tcann! Or maybe painful for someone, lol.
Good fly on the wall moment. :taunt:
It was absolutely wonderful! My friend was a modest person about his size/capabilities so if you were to creep through his photos, you wouldn't be able to tell anything about him, which equaled a very unpleasant surprise for the troll. It was funny to me, not so much to the guy on the receiving end!

And thats where I learned the lesson that you never know who your talking to, or what some people are capable of, and thankfully, I didn't need to learn it the hard way!
Are you implying your friend settled the social media quarrel via physical violence? If yes, what a goon, I can't believe we still have members of society that feel this is a proper way to settle personal matters. In my circles we would talk it out over a glass of single malt

/internethighhorse
This is what I am implying, but not saying he just walked up and jumped the guy.. And I am generally with you in nearly all circumstances, but sometimes, just sometimes, things aren't settled by words, and some lessons aren't learned that way. My friend isn't a particularly rude or mean person, but the one on the receiving end was. Mind you the things said weren't the equivalent to a blades vs gi "discussion", the things said were not things people in your circle, which if you resolve things like you have said, would be saying in the first place.

See my particular friend wouldn't be considered 100% mentally capable, if you spent time with him you'd know something is just a little bit off, (I have a severely mentally challenged sister so things of this nature do light my rather long fuse about 3/4 of the way down as well), but for anyone with a heart, it's not something you'd point out as it's not painfully obvious but not everything lines up for him mentally, and he has a particular physical trait that grade school kids would poke fun at, but any respectable person would not, and being in our early to mid 20's, things become less acceptable to be immature and mean about.

Now by the chance of fate these two run into eachother, and the other guy had no intention of apologizing or standing down and decided to still be an a$$ and reiterate all of the things he had already said. Some lessons are not learned via discussion, and you can't teach stupid. If he had apologized it would have been different. If someone on here got into a fight over which sand wedge is better I'd call them an idiot too. But to those who decide to poke fun at someones mental and physical disabilities in life, I would say any lesson given any way is just fine.

.... And the "Dress Shoe" thread in the 19th hole too, for that matter.
Very Well Stated!!

Boy, if this bummed a few of You out, don't ever go into Dufster's thread on the physical side of the game or you're gonna really look down your nose at me and a few others, LMAO

Though as TCann eloquently stated, sometimes, and yes, it is unfortunate, however sometimes, you have to speak a language that is mutually understood ;)

And before I called someone a goon, I would want to know a little more of the back story, because to broad brush "social media" as harmless, irrelevant words and banter, let's not forget that the words communicated across social media have caused individuals to take their own lives, it has ended careers and left others' reputations and legacies in tatters, so like any medium, whether it be face to face or through the perceived safety and anonymity of a keyboard and screen, words can hurt & humiliate, words can destroy and yes, words can kill. A bully is a bully, and whether their weapon of choice is their fists, their mouths or their keyboards, they understand one and only one language-

And TCann's Bud spoke it!!

Extremely Well Played!!

Welcome to the board Bro, it's great to have Ya!!

Have a nice weekend :)

Fairways & Greens My Friend,
Richard
LMAO, we're from the same school of general thought.

My Father said that Psychiatry wasn't a "real" specialty when he entered his residency, and the guys that went that way were more screwed up than the patients that they were treating, and in reality were looking for answers to their own psychiatric issues and psychologists were either med-school rejects or drop-outs who's passion to be addressed as "Doctor" took them the next best path, lol. Before one of either or a fair minded defender of either chirps up, even at a young age, I knew that this was a narrow minded view, and while there could be a grain of truth in it, I surmised that there were indeed very few grains ;)

That being said, my early teen/young adult "therapists" were my Grandmother, a football coach & a few Golf Pros, then you throw my Father in there, and well, Ya see why it's been a work in progress, sometimes a one step forward, two steps back sorta thing, lol.

It was not the meca of cutting edge psychological thought, LMAO.

You did not deal with issues.

You looked at them, and if you could learn something to better yourself, you implemented that which was useful and you either buried(later coined "compartmentalizing") or forgot the rest.

Well, I did ok on taking the good and forgetting the useless, though the compartmentalizing sorta came back to bite me in the a** a few years ago, with my second bout with cancer ;)

Ya see, a compartment is only so big, as in finite dimensions. And like any "compartment," there comes a time where it's full, and Ya can't shut/slam the door. You have to deal with what's inside.

My Father could//can do it by just forgetting what was inside, however, as I said, I had already forgotten the useless stuff, and the stuff that I buried were issues, feelings and emotions that I didn't want to deal with. But laying in a bed, thinking about your mortality, has a way of throwing things in your face that, well, I thought that I was the Master of forgetting, however these issues are things that I had to deal with.

SO, as I said, it's a work in progress.

The individual that you see on this board is the same individual that you would see sitting across from you at a table or next to you in a cart. If/when I meet some of you, and make no mistake, when I'm clear of this stuff, I'm takin a few road trips, however I will have said more to you all than I have 99% of those in my life. The whole reason My GF walked out the door a few years ago was because she read stuff on another board that though she had known me for over a decade, and we were BB partners for 8 of those years, I kept things pretty close to the vest.

My shrink says that it's not so much a fear of attachment as a fear of "letting go," and putting myself in a position of vulnerability. I always put others before myself and I did just fine, regardless of the arena, however I could keep everyone except family at an arm's length. Friends, acquaintances, professional peers, employees & especially Ladies, or so I thought. Though the relationships would always go the same way, including the ending, I developed an amazing ability to rationalize that it was not me. Some would call that delusional, lol,

Well, You Guys that have great relationships and marriages know that "arm's length" is like an ocean and ain't gonna get it done.

It just took me a little longer to learn that, and I'm thankful that she gave me a mulligan :)

So De, actually Al & Dr. Phil might have been better than the crew that I had, LMAO

Have a great weekend Bro :)

My Best,
RIchard

In the end, only three things matter~

How much that you loved...

How mightily that you lived...

How gracefully that you accepted both victory & defeat...

GHIN: Beefeater 24

LOL, this reminds me of the "Men are from Mars, Women are
From Venus" book from years ago. All I can say is my wife is from
Mars and Venus, lol. She always knows what I'm thinking.

My wife always knows what I'm thinking too, but that's 'cause all I think about is beer and golf.

I'm not sure if mine knows what I'm thinking either because I usually get "Are you f***** kidding me right now?"

That could mean she had an idea about what I was going to do, but was hoping I wouldn't do it. Maybe I'll ask her tonight.....
