Hey Woody,

Is the grass green there yet? I gave my mower it's spring tune up today and mowed a few patches of grass here and there that always grow before anything else does. The good news though is the course is greening up too.
That was freaky... Just quilled a request for you.
Rain is gradually knocking back the snow but we still have 2 foot piles wherever there's shade.
Mower is still in the shed. We're probably 3-4 weeks before we see any new lawn growth starting.

Quick check-in, the new job is really chafing my spin skin and I barely have time for lunching let alone lurking.

Love the wedge talk. All this talk about grooves and compression and I didn't see a mention on low/high compression balls and wedge spin (thought I'd pitch a softball for D if he had some thoughts).

I play non-conforming wedges......and I don't care.

+1 on a putting stroke chip with a heal up 8 iron (most often for me) when there's money on the line otherwise it's a 60 from the rough or a 52 from the fairway for chips.

Yes, I said it. I ALWAYS carry a 60* wedge.....and use it a lot AND like it (veiled snicker towards a different thread).

And Bick......You need to educate us on the Indiana religious freedom law. My alternate lifestyle neighbor thinks they'll make him play from pink tees if he goes to Indiana.

Done early for the night... peace out compadres.

Parting hot tip... If your employer relies almost exclusively on video conferencing from desktop computers, try not to pick your nose on a call. Still learning that one.
I bet you get more into a regular routine at work and things smooth out in a week or two Woody. At least in time for the start of golf season.

About the new law, I'll have to do some research on it for you, because I've not read it as written, and it depends on who's doing the talking, whether it discriminates or not. I always thought if you were in business, you could sell to someone if you wanted to, and also refuse to sell to someone. Didn't see the need for a law to be passed.

Thread on Jason Duffner getting a divorce. Hate to see that but in all reality not a surprise. She got a free ride and 2.5 mil. to boot.

Caps on both letters of his name Q.

Sounds like her purse just got heavier and he won't be dumping it out on the table. Hope he managed to spare his ProV1 and ProV2.

Bick I think there's some sort of taboo about discussing religion and politics on this forum. So I will dance very softly here hoping the ice doesn;t crack all around me.

It always amazes me when there is room on the legislative docket for an issue that does absolutely nothing to feed one hungry kid, fix one pothole, elevate one police officer's, teacher's, or EMT's resources. Got to love it when the traffic signal goes up AFTER a few people die at an intersection, Meanwhile there is all the time and energy in the world available to grab headlines over an agenda that actually changes almost nothing. RANT OVER.

Meanwhile back at the chipping green.... we talked about how the handle moves WITH the clubhead when putting. For chipping that seems to apply as well (or at least it does for me).

BUT - with pitching - I tend to get in trouble when there is a little more wrist hinging. I "think" the problem is that with a full swing I rely a lot on letting centrifugal force takeover and unhinge the wrists more so than "throwing" or manipulating the hands. BUT with pitching there isn't that kind of energy and speed happening at the bottom of the swing.

So to collide the issues here - there needs to be a law passed just for me - they can call it the "swinger bill" -- that should grab some headlines !

Kinda sad really. And media types searching public records for the
details. I haven't seen him on TV but have heard he's lost a lot of
weight. I'm familiar with the "divorce diet". Very effective but not too
pleasant.

I hope he's doing OK; seems like a good guy. I'm not going to
bother reading the thread about it.

I have already made the mistake of cruising the thread. Such a sad story, but all too common these days. During my musician days I've played my fair share of weddings, you'd be amazed how many get divorced unfortunately. Since the days of the internet and reality TV people are hungry for stories like this and it's really too bad. Jason Dufner does seem like a nice guy, I hope both of them are able to move on and be happy again.

Judge, I read an interesting article where they asked Luke Donald all about his short game technique. The thing that stuck with me with pitch shots that Luke talked about is making sure to just swing the weight of the clubhead. Keep the flow, feeeeeeel the flow LOL!!! Remember I'm talking about pitching Hahaha!!

Nothing like a good booger eating contest!

Maybe there is one at a county fair somewhere......or mybe a booger
flicking contest. I wonder what the distance record is for booger flicking
or for that matter the record for boogers eaten.

Alright fellers!!!! Wnet out the other day and bought two boxes of ProV1x's.
Last years model of course. They were cheaper. Today, I bought my pass
and cleaned my clubs. They were so bad I couldn't read the number on the
bottom. Lol. They don't normally get too dirty but this spring they've just
been going in and out of the back of the suv. I charged up my GPS.

Tomorrow - first round in 5 months. 9 holes. No expectations. Play
golf not golf swing. I've been playing golf swing for too long this spring.

I also realized today that my eyeline wasn't over the ball on my putting.
Made that adjustment and I'm hitting the ball back in the middle and they
seem to be starting on a good line. Before my eyes were outside the ball
and the contact and direction were questionable. Felt like I was steering.
With this adjustment I feel like I can just stroke the ball and it takes off where
I want ti to. Here's to hoping!!!

My nickname with the family growing up was in fact Booger LOL!! TJ Booger, my aunt came up with that after watching an episode of TJ Hooker. I always seemed to have a finger in my nose as a child haha, good thing I grew out of it.

Have fun MC!! And yes play golf and not golf swing!! I'm hoping to be out on the course in a little over a month, so yes, here is to hoping :taunt:

Have a nice relaxing round tomorrow MC!

Our truck showed a temp of 97 today when we were in Yuma, AZ.

There's a nice course there but it was too late in the day to try to
go over there and play, alas.

Weather forecast is positive for next couple of days. I actually leave for a quick trip to Nashville this week on Good Friday returning Saturday. What all that means is the potential is good that I could squeeze in a round tomorrow or Thurs. MC we may be celebrating and commiserating at the same time.

So here are things I will take with me to the course assuming it happens:

Pitching:

Feel and swing the WEIGHT of the club. CHECK!

Focus first on the landing spot and the hole second. CHECK!

Pick nose and flip before eating. TRIPLE CHECK!

Meet the clubhouse guy in the parking lot when leaving. BOUNCED CHECK!

Nah, you don't need any of that stuff cluttering your mind. Just go in there with "Where is the first tee and what is the course record" (from the senior tees) :taunt:

Bond movies were always the biggest tease movies. .... endless suggestive talk with some chick as the bullets were flying... but never the actual sack-scene. Frustrating to a young man!

Scotee I can promise all sorts of records.... other than low score. LOL. Played about six weeks ago in a cold 30 mph wind. It was UGLY. The disappointment was my playing partners faired pretty well but I didn't. Stopped keeping score after six holes if that tells you anything.

Brag posts are not my thing. Will simply say I am capable of going low BUT I just don't have a game that responds well to long breaks. This one maybe a practice round with rules getting bifurcated, trifurcated, and maybe even quadricated. LOL.

We all have those ugly rounds. I find I have more fun if I reset my expectations in starts like that and just hope to hit a few good shots. Smart not to keep score sometimes.

I hear ya Judge about the long breaks. We're in the same boat.

I came home from 2 months on the road about 3 years ago and
went out with my buds to play and started birdie, birdie, par on the
first 3 holes.....and they gave me no end of grief and I doubled
the next 3 holes and turned a -2 thru 3 to a +4 thru 6 and assumed
my rightful place as the high scorer in the group, lol.

I have NO consistency whatsoever when I play sporadically. The
game is here one minute and gone the next. BOOM!!
