Does anyone not feel my pain that Pluto is no longer a Planet ???

And yeah Pluto plays blades.

That wouldn't have even been funny this afternoon. But now? Oh, yeah. But I can't afford this and I don't feel so well.

Hold your head up shanks, the night is young.

You watch, SFN is gonna wake up tomorrow morning with the worst hangover of his life, a white tiger in his bathroom and 17 sets of Blades on the way from 19 different countries...

I got lectured on "new ball flight laws" only to find out it was only a difference in where you aim. lol
For real....

There's nothing like getting 'educated' by a google master running multiple monitors and a fully archived, extensive bookmark folder, telling you what you don't know even though you've lived it since before they were born.
That whole ball flight law thing just astounded me. In my feeble mind, if I could work a shot with reliability then the version of the law I was abiding by was irrelevant. I never understood all the hoohaa
My ball don't fly. Is that a problem?

Your missing one other crucial thought. It may be so obvious that there is no reason for stating. If it's not and your still missing it, you won't be married long.

I smell a catfish. Who's the real Richard?

Richard FWIW I am a chemical engineer that learned to self diagnose psychological trauma from Al Bundy and Dr. Phil. Consider the source...
LMAO, we're from the same school of general thought.

My Father said that Psychiatry wasn't a "real" specialty when he entered his residency, and the guys that went that way were more screwed up than the patients that they were treating, and in reality were looking for answers to their own psychiatric issues and psychologists were either med-school rejects or drop-outs who's passion to be addressed as "Doctor" took them the next best path, lol. Before one of either or a fair minded defender of either chirps up, even at a young age, I knew that this was a narrow minded view, and while there could be a grain of truth in it, I surmised that there were indeed very few grains ;)

That being said, my early teen/young adult "therapists" were my Grandmother, a football coach & a few Golf Pros, then you throw my Father in there, and well, Ya see why it's been a work in progress, sometimes a one step forward, two steps back sorta thing, lol.

It was not the meca of cutting edge psychological thought, LMAO.

You did not deal with issues.

You looked at them, and if you could learn something to better yourself, you implemented that which was useful and you either buried(later coined "compartmentalizing") or forgot the rest.

Well, I did ok on taking the good and forgetting the useless, though the compartmentalizing sorta came back to bite me in the a** a few years ago, with my second bout with cancer ;)

Ya see, a compartment is only so big, as in finite dimensions. And like any "compartment," there comes a time where it's full, and Ya can't shut/slam the door. You have to deal with what's inside.

My Father could//can do it by just forgetting what was inside, however, as I said, I had already forgotten the useless stuff, and the stuff that I buried were issues, feelings and emotions that I didn't want to deal with. But laying in a bed, thinking about your mortality, has a way of throwing things in your face that, well, I thought that I was the Master of forgetting, however these issues are things that I had to deal with.

SO, as I said, it's a work in progress.

The individual that you see on this board is the same individual that you would see sitting across from you at a table or next to you in a cart. If/when I meet some of you, and make no mistake, when I'm clear of this stuff, I'm takin a few road trips, however I will have said more to you all than I have 99% of those in my life. The whole reason My GF walked out the door a few years ago was because she read stuff on another board that though she had known me for over a decade, and we were BB partners for 8 of those years, I kept things pretty close to the vest.

My shrink says that it's not so much a fear of attachment as a fear of "letting go," and putting myself in a position of vulnerability. I always put others before myself and I did just fine, regardless of the arena, however I could keep everyone except family at an arm's length. Friends, acquaintances, professional peers, employees & especially Ladies, or so I thought. Though the relationships would always go the same way, including the ending, I developed an amazing ability to rationalize that it was not me. Some would call that delusional, lol,

Well, You Guys that have great relationships and marriages know that "arm's length" is like an ocean and ain't gonna get it done.

It just took me a little longer to learn that, and I'm thankful that she gave me a mulligan :)

So De, actually Al & Dr. Phil might have been better than the crew that I had, LMAO

Have a great weekend Bro :)

My Best,
RIchard
Richard,

I have absolutely no doubt that you post with complete sincerity and you are who you are. Before I came out of years of quasi-lurking I had read a lot of your posts and can tell that you post from the heart.

I also really appreciate you sharing that part of you and your background. Talk about growing up a head case!

I'm conflicted. If I agree we are from the same school of thought, then that means I'm as certifiable as you are. NFW. :stop:

My Best Respect,
DeNinny
PS With that post I just added you as a friend. Like it or not!
