I had a flight this week and read an article about Jeff Ogilvie. He said, in his eyes Oosthuizen has the purest swing on tour.

Not really ... for everyone like you who think they hit the lottery because a pro changed clubs .... there are 2 or more who could care less ..it's like what's the BFD ??

I actually do care. I like to know who is playing what. Especially when it comes to ping. Not to mention its interesting due to the stories of Cleveland going out of business/merging with srixon.

I was not giving you a smartass answer ..... just stating fact ...... what in the scheme of life is so important about whether he uses .. Ping , Cleveland , Cobra ..?? it's a golf club that all do similar things ..no matter what name is on it .... and in another reality ... it is not about a manufacture or club .. it's about how much MONEY he will get paid to use their clubs ....

Fact is young kids and probably adults buy Nike because of Rory and Tiger. Role models!

There's nothing smartass about my reply, ...... this is a forum, you created a thread implying that you want responses, you have to expect the ngative as well as those that fit.

apologies if you thought I was thread crapping but really please explain why you care that Louis is changing sponsers?....surely either way it's just a business decision?

It's noteworthy to me. Not many players come or go from Ping in the first place. Also remember that Ping doesn't have many Major winners, and really only one of those remains relevant. Having one of those go may diminish branding, obviously.

Louis will probably be okay. And as smooth as his swing is with its lauded "flat left wrist," it still produces a 2 way miss.

Pretty sure he's just taking the Mickey. Any guy who works in the pro shop and sells ProVs for $60 a box to chops with double digit handicaps can tell you it matters.

It is certainly a real pretty swing but that doesn't make it the purest or most efficient or functional. Personally I don't know who has the purest swing on tour and Ogilvy obviously knows more than me, but I would take Rory or Scotts swing ahead of Louis. I would take Stensons awkward action ahead of Oostys pretty swing too. All about what gets it done, not what looks good. Case in point Ray Floyd. Not even a mother would love that swing, but it got the job done better than just about anyone of hus generation.

He has a nice swing, but I've heard he's lazy to practice. He'd rather drive his tractor apparently. I doubt will see him in contention in the majors, but he has a swing to prove me wrong.
