Our swing speeds are different enough that I can't really recommend a shaft for you, but I can confirm slightly better ball speeds from the G30 compared to the i25. I love them both, and I am not really sure if you have one of them you would need to change to the other one. I think you might expect 300 rpm or so less backsping with the i25 over the G30 generally. I would suspect that if you paired both clubs with the ideal shaft FOR YOU, that you might not see much of a difference at all in how they perform on the course for you. I have had the G30 since they came out and I have been amazed at how well it performs in terms of trajectory control, forgiveness, roll out, anything associated with what makes a driver great. Before that I raved about the i25 for the same reasons...but the extra forgiveness of the G30 made it a winner for me.

At your SS I'd guess G30 but it's really just a guess. For me the G30 fits in between the I25 and G25 in terms of spin, it was a lot better than the g25 for me.

However I tried to like the I25 but it wasn't forgiving enough, low spin, long, much better sound than the g25 though.

I'd at least go put a few swings on a g30 before ordering another i25. If you need the spin kill of the i25, loft up to 10.5 and take that against the "low spin" g30 next spring.

I'm on the fence between these two. Currently game a 9.5 I25 but not getting enough launch for my moderate [95 mph] swing speed. I am considering getting a 10.5 I25 ,,or would I be better with the G30? Either way is fine with me, but just interested in opinions of those who have gamed both.

I also have a 95mph swing right now and I'm getting 15* launch from a 9.5 I25 with 1900 spin. Fresh numbers straight from a lesson. But I'm +7 AOA...

Switched from G30 to I25 2 months ago. Ball speed on the i25 was higher which in turn led to longer shots. G30 is a bit more forgiving but not enough to offset the ball speed difference. I also prefer the pin striping on the top of the i25 to the turbulators. The stripes make the driver so easy to line up. Both drivers are excellent choices. I put the G25 shaft in the I25 10.5 head. Bam...For me, the clear winner was the I25.

I owned both. Ended up selling the I25, but both were really great drivers. No big secret here, and the replies above are spot on mostly. I25 is slightly lower spin, and the g30 is much more forgiving while being somewhat low spin. The g30 has been a game changer for me. It's just so darn straight I just grip it and rip it. If you need lower spin more than more forgiveness, go with i25. If not , go g30. I don't see how you could go wrong with either.

Yeah but you're a legendary ball striker. You haven't missed a fairway since 1984 and that was first cut

Went from G25 to I25 recently. When I got the i25 I wasn't intending on doing so. I was really just comparing the g25 to the g30.

I have a really high swing speed, so someone with 95 may have different results, but I got much better ball speeds (about 4-7mph depending on strike) and much less spin from the i25 than g30 or g25. To me, the g30 wasn't significantly different than the g25.

G25 was spinning in the 3100 range, g30 about 3000. Ball speeds were within 0.5mph... With the slight edge to the g30. Forgiveness equal.

The i25 was an entirely different animal. Averaged 2500 spin, and the aforementioned 4-7mph of ball speed. I also noticed no significant differences in terms of forgiveness except on huge misses. Really big misses on the i25 towards the toe led to a fade or slice (shocking as my typical miss is a pull hook), where they had more gear effect and came back towards center with the g25/30. Distance wise the i25 was way better as far as miss hits. A miss on the toe or heel gave me way less yards in the g25/30 than the i25. If you find the center frequently the i25 has plenty of forgiveness.

I also love the racing stripes. Didn't think I would but they really are helpful for setting up... Something the Klingon emblem didn't do for me in the g25.

Dunno if this helps buy maybe it does.

I'm surprised that your numbers on the 25 and 30 were so similar. I thought the G30 was supposed to be substantially lower spin than the G25 .

I am not sure how you're defining 'really high' ss, but I'm around 108-110 and I'd completely agree.

For me, i25 is the best driver out there.
