Back to the Pingman

So after a season of trying out a couple of superstroke grips (a 1.0 on my TP Mills trad 2 and a 2.0 on my old newport) I played a round a couple of weekends ago where I was frustrated with my putting. While only having one 3 putt from probably 30+feet away, I didn't make a single putt from outside about 7-8 feet. So I was in my local golftown a few days later and and decided to go back to the tiny Pingman grip on my Newport. Last weekend my putting just felt so much better. Drained a couple 10-12 footers and left fewer putts short(which I have a tendency to do). I know the bigger grips are all the rage right now, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experimented with the larger grips, and then decided to go back to a more traditional sized one?

I have and the larger ones just don't feel right in my hands. I do prefer the midsize ones though, specifically the midsize Pingman that comes on the Karsten TR series.,

Pingman grips in general are great, but the midsize Pingman grips are absolutely perfect. I don't even think about putting with anything else.

Midsize is as big as I go. I like the pingman with one or two wraps underneath the best

I play the midsize cord on my 1959 my day. I love that grip. I think it was the stock grip on the first generation of the TRs...the insert version. But you folks know better than me. Anyway, it is grip nirvana for me.

It's funny: last time I was in a golf shop, I got a Pingman blackout with the intent of cutting off the SuperStroke Ultraslim 1.0 on my Odyssey.
Wouldn't you know, the SS grip started to really work for me after I bought the Pingman. (Just threaten any gear and it behaves.)
But I have used a Pingman on my G5i Craz-e for many years. It is nice to kinda "shock" your senses with different grip sizes sometimes. I'll switch between larger and smaller putter grips if I'm struggling.

Shock to the senses is a perfect way to put it. much like when the superstroke went on.

I dabbled with the ss 1.0 and 2.0 for 2013 went back to the pingman and dancing cameron this year and putted much better.

I gamed the SS 2.0 all last year after having a fatso the year before. I just bought a new Ping Karsten TR and I think it is more the head shape, but I was putting great with it so I plan on leaving the stock grip which felt good. I thought a standard/mid size grip would feel too small coming from an SS but I have been quite comfortable with it.

I had the SS 2.0 on my cleveland classic HB1 putter all last year and put the SS 3.0 on my current putter, Ping Scottsdale TR. I just ordered the Winn Ping AVS Midsize Pistol that I'm going to put on it. I think the midsize pistol just feels the best for me. I'm just not feeling the clubhead as much as i like to with the SS grips.
