Been a while since I have posted on this thread. Some blade love updates. 
 

first, still gaming my MP 33s. Try others but nothing else is same. Guess I’ve played them so many years they’re ingrained in my golf DNA

 

next, turned my son, now a college player, to a blade guy when he was in high school. He has a NIL with Titleist and has won two college tournaments playing 620 MBs. He’s setup with DG Tour Issue X100 shafts, plays a D-5 swingweight, has then bent 2* flat and 1 strong. Carries 7 iron 205. He’s angling for the 680s that are limited issue but I think I’d go the new Mizuno S blades. 
 

As my son says, blades hit the launch and spin windows he wants perfectly and turf interaction is exceptional.

Glad to see the blade gang going strong. I'm still patiently waiting for my NCW set that has taken significantly longer to get here than I was told... Some day I'll get them and be back in the active blade gang.

Good lord man, what'd you ask Jeff to do for you that's taking so long? You asked for full face grooves on all the irons, didn't ya 😄

Originally ordered back in June '24, wanting 4-P PMB muscle in polished chrome with face diamonds from DW. I kept going back and forth with Ari about changing stamping and little things before finally changing to a progressive wingback muscle. I was originally told around 6ish months lead time but every month or so I asked for an update it just seems like it was moving slowly along and told they should be there soon. I was hoping to have them in hand before my Scotland trip last month, but I'm still waiting. Just not really knowing when I can actually expect them to arrive is what's killing me. I've waited plenty of time for other things I've ordered (no idea how many others here are into keyboards and know about group buys). I have no issue being patient and waiting for a year+ but wish I knew that from the start. I know it's not the biggest operation and I don't like bothering Ari every few weeks or so, and I'm not really trying to dig at them or anything, I just want these irons lmao.

Wow, takes a lot of patience to wait that long, hope they come through for you. Sounds like a nice build.

Picked up a flow set of 2024 Cobra King irons. Cobra did a great job with these irons.

Picked up a set of Vega VM-02 irons 4-PW. Played Vega VW-06 GW and VW-04 SW for several seasons. Loved the feel and sole grinds on the wedges so was very excited to try the VM-02 irons with the tri-grind sole.

 

Top line is nice and thin. Long irons look perfect at address. Mid irons and short irons have a quick transition from the hosel to the top line. Not my favorite but not too bad. Satin finish looks great.
 

Reshafted with Project X 6.0 shafts and took them out for a round. Irons feel great and performed very well. Love how they get through the turf and allow me to open the club to play different types of shots. Feel is very soft as expected for Kyoei forged irons.

 

PS cloudiness on the irons is due to condensation from high humidity. Temperature difference from my basement to the outside is significant 😀.

Got them just in time. Executive order came down, so going to have to do full paperwork on both ends and pay duties on imports regardless of value from now on in order to clear customs. Paperwork alone and the extra time to clear customs is going to be a pain.

 

The paperwork may mean manual processing through customs. Not sure if it will also require extra steps for the courier to get the package once it gets stateside. Items I've had to pay duties to ship before also required someone to sign for them in person, but don't know how that varies by country of origin and destination.

I have the chrome and the black. They’re at the top of the list of best blades made I believe. 
 

have a set of miura giken mb-5003 (mb 001 in the US) and they are the same size (although top line on miura is thinner) but the blade shaping is almost identical. Muscle is straighter but it’s great to see modern blades that are that small and traditional. Feel great too

Albeit a long time to wait, no matter how long, it's going to be absolutely worth it and we can't wait to see them

I def consider them blades. But I’ve come to find that my opinion is often considered wrong!
