@Bigmean Is this Napa/8802-style = the "Zen" that you're referring to?

Because when you mentioned "Zen" ... this is the Zen Putter that came to mind! https://www.golfwrx.com/191/zen-oracle-rde-mallet-review/

...or this? https://blog.tourspecgolf.com/golds-factory-ryu-zen-putter-in-the-works/ ...https://blog.tourspecgolf.com/golds-factory-ryu-zen-putter-image-of-the-day/

Hahaha, I remember the zen you roll out the ball from the back hole in the putter!

googke “Epon Zen putter” and that is my zen.  Not a ton in English, sale and asking prices all over the place but it is 1/300 I think, and I think it is an absolute gem in any collection that in time will age and appreciate very well.

Maybe they'll let you keep both sets. Restocking items is so pesky.

Actually they are going to "James" in Florida because it's $18 to Florida vs $75 to China. Hope they are what James ordered.

Played my first couple of rounds this morning (I play a 6-hole Par 3 course, most holes are 130-180yds) with this somewhat custom set of Titleist Tour Model Forged blades.  They were a bit beat up when I got them, so I stripped them of chrome and nickel, filled in the bottom script and #, and did a custom sole grind.  I wanted a slightly bevelled leading edge, since I'm a bit of a sweeper.

I also wanted to try out playing a set of blades with a much lighter swingweight than normal, and with a set of light graphite shafts.  Swingweight came in right at C9.5 across the board, most of builds come in around D2-D3 range.  7-iron shaft came in at 54.5g playing at 37.5", and total assembled club weight is 335.7g.  Stripping the chrome/nickel essentially removed 7-9g for each head, so they came in one club lighter.

Most of today's round was 7-PW, but the third hole played long and I managed to stiff a 5-iron to within tapin birdie distance at 175yds.  I'm really liking the combo of a small forged blade, with a light graphite shaft.  I can actually get some elevation with my 50yo average swing speed.

I absolutely love it.  First time I ever tried a center shafted putter, and it just works for me.  And I love the looks of it, both at address and in the bag.

I haven’t been going to the practice green much,  as you know I have been driver obsessed for a while.  So when I practice my putting I usually bring. 2-4 putters and I create a tournament style game to keep my focus and attention to get the most out of my time before I am there just fanning at balls with no intent.

Since you all like blades here, I got one.   I have NEVER gamed this, but this is currently the hottest putter in my stable coming off back to back practice wins.  I’m seriously torn between gaming it next round or never gaming it.

Edit: I guess I need to attach photos.   It is hard to get that face

mill that radiates out but the putter is absolutely disgusting in real life.  It is my favorite by far 8802/Napa style putter, but I am biased.

sheesh that thing's exquisite... though i'd probably pick the GF as my roller out of the two.

as far as my gamer is concerned - like most here it's hard to settle on one. the one i most often fall back on though is just a classic Tei3 NP1 Long Neck in a copper finish. Much prefer the absence of any alignment aid (as you do too by the looks) and hard to fault the roll and feedback it provides.

And speaking of wedges - was doing a bit of browsing last night - does anyone have any info on these? Was surprised at the price - especially considering they're 2nd hand.

and on the flipside, came across these and thought these were really well priced - haven't hit, was hoping someone here may have tested / know more about them before i go splurging..

BRIDGESTONE Wedge

Dunno much about those Bridgestone wedges off-hand i.e. haven't yet google-searched... but doesn't "MuGen" ("無限")= a Japanese term for "No Limits" i.e. you may want to check if these are those super-sharp grooves that might not satisfy the CoC i.e. conditions of competition?

..Edit: Some info here, circa 2015(?):

Very interesting!

Thanks for the links.

MuGen honestly just reminds me of the original Fast & The Furious games. Tricked out skylines, RX-7's, S2000's etc. - so was curious seeing the branding on a golf club.

Suppose they could be the 'AMG' version of that particular wedge model... ha

Mugen makes hi-performance parts for Japanese sports cars. Very desirable among the drifter , street racing crowd. Their wheels for Civics command huge money.I'm looking for a set for my '92 Si rebuild.

92 SI rebuild?……that Sounds blade enough to be covered more here 😎

92 bubble back Si w/ 110K, I'm 2nd owner. Needs lower quarters and lower sills replaced due to Northeast rust. My daughter went thru high school & college with it and handed it back. Have after market Jackson blower that fits but may opt for something other v-tec wise. Big mod is suspension upgrades and chassis tightening. With nice light wheels and fat tires, these are really fun to drive. This is my 3rd one. We bought new and got 200K and 17 years till it was rear ended, bought another had it for 6 weeks, a lady T-boned it, still hate her. Goal is 200 hp, tight body & sticky wheels and fresh paint. Plan is tear down, send body for blast, then off to body shop. I do all mechanical work. Best part, it's all wife approved, lol.

So much fun.  I love all that stuff, I actually picked up a weekend car in my last hiatus and I almost went the project route, I was dying to get something and a garage lift and go at it as a hobby.  I used to work on all my early cars, I taught myself how to work on cnc machines and it is on my wheelhouse to not be scared to mess with machines etc.

I was laying in bed one Night and I realized I am so overworked at My company that at the end of the day I wouldn’t Be able to enjoy it.  I come home so drained that at of day I just wanted to shift Gears and enjoy a fun car and at this point in life it wouldn’t be as enjoyable as I think it would be when I am less stressed at work.

I also wasn’t sure if a weekend car was just a midlife crisis phase or what, and I at least confirmed that I LOVE the car and love having a weekend alter ego.  I am firmly now In the camp of always wanting a manual sports car laying around, don’t care if it is a Miata or a 911, doesn’t matter,  it really is genuine youth fun to rip around a car you have to rip around in when you want to.  I get that it is a first world privilege, but what else do you work 60 hours a week for….

Starting to get a bit of patina, after a week of use.  Couple of notes:

-I'm really digging the lighter swing weight.  These came in at C9.5, and most of my builds are D2-3.  It's just a rhythm thing I'm sure, but it feels so smooth and easy to hit these.

-The PW must have been bent upright a couple degrees in a past life, because I have a steady draw with this one club.  It's coming in around 66*, while the 9i is 64* and then 1/2* increments on down.  Or it's a combo of my swingpath being more in-to-out because of the lighter weight, but this is only happening with the PW.  Unfortunately, the OD of the hosel is just a tad too large for my bending bar.  Never had this trouble before.  It never occurred to me when I realized I didn't need to turn down the ferules at all.

-This light bevel to the leading edge I ground into them has been great for the style of turf I normally play on.  I'm a sweeper, and tee boxes (I play a par 3 course daily) have been a little fluffy lately.  It's such a smooth move through impact.

-I might do a paint infill on the script and "tour model", likely just black.  While I like the patina forming, the scripts are getting a bit crusty.

2 part comment incoming.

So my recent back into golf dove has my son getting back into it, which is cool for me as a dad of course (let’s face it, the wife has a much different Approach my time on course. If he is with me).

Anyway, those really OG members here. May remember When he did the youth thing and was Charlie woods age bracket and I got to walk 9 with the big cat (sorry, gotta bring that back up cause it was a life memory for sure) so he has had legit 9 hole youth tournament experience and has a swing of sorts to work with and flexibility I only wish I had these days.

He was using my mp14s cause like in my house that is how you learn to hit irons, however those rust buckets were leaving marks on my sim screen, so last night we played 18 and I was like no more, use these tonight (my 1957cbs).   He not only really liked them he was hitting them fantastic.  They aren’t even “easy” to hit to the point the reason I was going to sell them is ultimately why would I not just Play the 57 blades.

So 3 minor annoyances came about with the Marks on my screen, the fact that I was going to list those to fund the topic of part 2, but now they are going to be his as long as He stays with it and the 3rd was holy crap this kid with those clubs and the roddios in them was legit 1 Club less than me.  He is a string bean at 5’6.  He has to choke down 1” up from the shaft, and mid 160s 7 irons?  Wtf.

Yes,  I realize the marks on screen is the only real annoyance, but man I had a plan…..

This was the plan.  I’m so convinced these are kyoei heads, but I can’t find proof of that anywhere including trying to navigate Google.Jp.   I was going to roll the dice as the shafts are perfect for me and I really want a kyeoi set again.  No other set cut into my small blade bag time like my Vegas.

I am not going to spend this kind of money on a chance guess and not move another set, but what do you all think of these?

These bad boys just showed up.  I don't have a lot of Wood Brothers knowledge, so I jumped on these.  2-SW, in pretty good overall shape.  Very small head design, with a cropped off toe section at the back, and those funky sorta full-face grooves.  Couple photos compare them to the MP14s.

Well, the sole looks very Kyoei like. Almost ''sure thing'' like. I'm huge fan of the K1 & KCM heads. Missed the chance to get 1964 heads on sale, may someday drop doe on something of theirs.

Had a great range session, which is sure to mean I'll play a** tomorrow, lol. Been years since driver looked so awesome sauce. Really dislike how ideas of swing are conveyed. Just saying.
