SuperSpeed Golf Training

Hey guys, posted this in one the PGA show threads, but decided to post it here too. Was following and reading some of the coverage of the PGA show and came across this company called SuperSpeed Golf Training System. Did anyone who attended the show stop by their booth or has anyone ever heard of them or used their system? The reporter from the Orlando Sentinel covering the show wrote about them saying they claim their product along with their training system that takes 15 minutes 3 times a week can significantly increase club head speed.

Here is the link to the article I read it in:

Does this just sound like another worthless training aide that is just making outlandish promises or does the science and theory behind it make sense to people? Does anyone think it can really do what they claim?

Sounds like a pretty standard overweight/underweight product. There are ton of them out there (see http://www.powergolfsystem.com/, http://www.swingnature.com/ , and there are a ton more ). The science is solid but I can't comment on their implementation. And odds are you will not gain quite as much as any of these sites claim. They tend to post the high responders....

Yes, overspeed devices work. If your interested, just google Overspeed golf training. You will get a lot of info. FWIW, long drive guys use this stuff too, but many build their own to do it on the cheap. Saw a long drive competitor who's light club was an alignment aid with some screws taped to the "head" to give it the right weight, then his heavier club was just a 3 wood with his normal shaft in it, cut to driver length.

I'm part of the SuperSpeed Golf team and can tell you that, in our tests, our clients experience, on average, a 3% - 8% increase in swing speed after the first workout. Now, this effect may only last 5-10 minutes because the muscles are not yet conditioned to accommodate the increased speeds. However, after about 6 weeks, the neuromuscular system adapts to the increased speeds and you'll be able to swing faster for the duration of the round.

As was mentioned, many long drivers use this product to beef up their speeds. With the use of our product, a ReMax Long Drive competitor set the swing speed record of 156 mph.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

There is an entire thread about Super Speed on this Forum you may want to read it to help answer your question. I have the system and have increased my swing speed from 88 to 93 mph in the last couple of months... which is great when you are 70 years old!!

Over the winter I did the program with homemade sticks and have gained about 20 yards this season. My average drive last summer was about 230 with long drives of about 260. This year average drives are somewhere around 250 with long drives 275+. The drives this year have been measured with Arccos so they are real numbers.

Heard an interview with the creators of Super Speed and they have put a ton of work into the system.

Swinging my own homemade light club the last three days I can fully believe these claims are accurate for those of us moderate swingers with plenty of 'potential'

I've started writing down my speeds with both right and left arm and they have increased in each session, without fail. I just did the calcs and it's an 8% increase on the dominant arm and 9% increase on the non-dominant arm in a matter of days. Swing something light at maximum effort and your muscles etc. seem to get the gist of what you're trying to get them to do.

SuperSpeed is definitely something I'm trying this Winter. I like the idea of the 'clubs' being in the 10% underweight / 10% overweight range.

Thanks for posting the link. This is the thread with the information on how to make your own sticks. In the end I spent around $100 to $120 on the build not including the radar. In hindsight I would have ordered the clubs from SuperSpeed. It would have not been that much more money and the build quality would have been better.

Im swinging some of my kids clubs that weigh close enough to the specs listed on SuperSpeed website currently. I think I am going to just drill and epoxy on golf balls vs the weights the guy used in the thread above. Seems like it would do alot less damage if my DIY skills aren't up to par and the epoxy gave out.
