Aeroburner is Taylormade's number 1 tour model

I went from an R1 playing at 11* I believe in a whiteboard (low launch), and now went to a 10.5 aeroburner. MUCH higher ball flight but not ballooning. I love it. I gained 28 yards of carry on average (R1 was never right for me).

Is the Aeroburner still being played more than the R15 on tour? If it is, kinda weird that the flagship product is out of favor with the tour staff.

[/quote]I agree....I have an R15 and once again TM cannot build a decent feeling driver....aeroburner feels better for sure but still behind lots of others...to me R15 is just another SLDR....it's more similar than different...I will be dumping it soon....it's does get out there but hard to hit a driver that doesn't feel good

That is saying a lot given that the R15 IMO is one of the best feeling drivers I have hit to date.

the 430 is a truly great feeling driver. i wanted the aeroburner to be great, but after purchasing and reshafting, i was very disappointed. It was so light...I also added lead tape which improved the contact but ball flight was terrible. after 1 round, i went back and bought back my 430. Can't say enough good things about it.

R15 430 or SLDR 430?

BTW, the online reviews on youtube indicate that the performance of the R15 and SLDR are almost identical. Only when the weights are spread apart does it get marginally more forgiving than the SLDR.

r15 430 I've hit it next to the sldr 430/ reg r15/ AB and it is no contest...Just works better for me. Really had high hopes for the AB with a little heavier shaft. alas, it was not to be.
