915 Stock Shafts--launch

Hit a lot of drivers yesterday at PGA SS. Kind of settled on the 915. I'm just curious as to the launch characteristics of the stock offerings, Diamanas, (60 is the Blueboard and 70 is the Whiteboard, correct), and the Rouges.

Does anyone have that information. My launch with the BB which was the only one I hit was around 12*.

The Rogue Black should launch similarly to the Blue Board, the Rogue Silver and White Board are both supposed to be at the lower portion of the launch matrix, however, I can say that with I found the Rogue Silver to be more of a mid launch shaft as opposed to a low launch shaft. If low is what you want, White Board would be your ticket. That said, 12* launch is pretty solid, so it sounds like the Blue Board is a good fit from a launch standpoint.

Go with what fits you the best...and tune the head loft to the shaft, that's what it's there for. Much easier to change head loft to achieve the right fit and use a shaft that you like, than to go about it the other way around.

Thanks GN, this is what I'm struggling with right now. I currently hit a 910 d3 8.5 with a Ahina 72S+ in X flex. And it performs pretty well. I do hit it pretty low however which is why I'm wondering about launch and what it would take to raise it a bit. The 915 I hit was a 9.5* with the BB in stiff flex n

Unless you get into a position to where you get outside the specs of what you can get as far as lofts, there shouldn't be any real reason to have to start picking up shafts to manipulate flight...leave that to the head loft. Go with a weight and bend profile that feels right, then worry about the numbers when you try to find the right head to complement it.

Let me see if I'm interpuruting this correctly. If you have a shaft that works pretty well in order to raise the launch the simplest way to do so is with club head loft?

I'm planning on going up to the 9.5*, I just didn't want to mistakenly pair it with a shaft that might defeat the purpose.

Yes, find a shaft you want to go with, and tune the loft to fit. They both, as an end result, do the exact same thing...which is effect dynamic loft at impact. One just has less of an effect than the other. Head loft will always produce bigger gains in altering the LA over a shaft profile.

Not to sound really negative, but those charts are incredibly misleading. Launch and spin move together in a 1:1 ratio. The chart may be plotted well in terms of launch, but the spin being at different levels is not really correct at all. All shafts should be on the same gradient line and not in a spin category that differences from it's effect on launch. More the reason why it's much better to pick a shaft based on weight, feel, and overall consistency and then pick loft.
