Just wanted to come on here and say that I still absolutely LOVE my Kari DD201.  Everything about it has been perfect & it rolls the rock into the hole too.

He does such clean work, needs to find a guy who’s good with a tig.  With the car culture there it can’t be that hard to find someone who can stack dimes

Definitely I've seen mixed results with his welded necks. But his milling work is so good like you said.

My pipe neck KLP7J is with his welder now...I'm getting antsy, haven't seen any pics yet. Meanwhile my gamer putter has decided it is too offended by me purchasing a custom to keep making any more putts, so I can't wait to get this new one in!

also picked up a super simple, clean dd201 on fb marketplace! i like others' take on the anser 2 shape more but in terms of the classic anser this one's amazing

Does anyone have any long term reviews on the v groove face? I'm intrigued by horizontal milling but based on my research it seems people generally feel like it gets the ball rolling better, but that in terms of quantifiable tests it's inconclusive that horizontal grooves actually has meaningful impact on performance... no grooves or any face milling has ever shown to make an impact on performance (actually making more putts). And it’s been tested extensively.

Oh interesting. I think the whole topspin/better "roll" thing doesn't intuitively make sense to me given that (as a lot of folks on wrx have mentioned), I can't imagine there being enough compression on a putt to make a meaningful difference (if there is some difference in how it comes off the face, I'm not super convinced yet it'll impact performance). I just happen to remain intrigued given how many oems have horizontal grooves lately
 

BUT in your statement are you also bucketing face forgiveness on off center hits e.g. evnroll? That one seems to be more tested even if it's just a matter of the ball coming off less hot from the center

Doesn’t lead to more made putts. If it did they’d be advertising the fact like crazy.  All it does is change how fast the ball comes off, even if a ball skids more it simply changes how far it rolls out but it does it consistently. So it simply changes clubhead speed required but doesn’t actually change anything

Haha that's a fair point, although purely intuitively it's hard to imagine why something like evnroll's face (assuming it does what is advertised in terms of distance control) doesn't lead to made putts

 

If anyone has any photos of the "Mid" mill, please do share! The fine and deep ones seem to be easy to find online but not so much the Mid..

I'm sure most of you have seen it but Kari has stock putters and customs on sale, not sure how long the sale goes for but good time to get more off a putters especially if you are in the US with the exchange rate.

Edit to update: sent putter head and Stability Tour shaft to BGT for assembly and can't say enough about their communication/work too!

 

LOVE the feel of the Sensor. asked for a particular milling based on photos and it was done to perfection. I did interestingly find that the sweet spot is slightly even more towards the heel than some of my other plumber's neck blades (wondering if it's because the neck is on the thicker side?) so i'm playing around with a heavier weight on the toe side.

 

At this level of customization, price, and quality, pretty tough to beat

My DD201WB came on Thursday. I've only been able to roll it in my living room but the feel is phenomenal. This is everything I'm looking for in a putter. GSS, oil can finish, sight dot on top, deep milled face. It took about 6 weeks from the time I placed the order so I'm glad I did this over the Winter.
