Any update on this one? I finally have approval from the wife to order a Lajosi and am looking at this head shape in oil can (what I think your finish is). Interested to see what the oil can looks like in person/not on the CGI from the customization tool.

It’s in the above post. I was shocked by how much the real thing looked like the CGI version. The only difference is smaller font on the bumpers, honestly. The oil can finish came out and Kari sent updates on when he was going to do the milling and torching. Be patient though. It’ll take a while.

Admittedly, saw the photos and just assumed that was the bronze! My apologies for not reading closer. Gonna be very interesting to see how that ages over time!

Kari's still rockin the dama and that face mill on the copper.. I've got that on my copper insert as well. Feedback on that is great although some may find it too crisp.

Well, I should have a Satin GSS DD201 headed my way here very soon. Been in WIP for a few weeks. Went full on "009" with the styling. Light circular mill, GSS 350 bumpers, AUS made in the cavity, Lajosi script face, flange line, all white fill. Should be buttery! Kari has been great to work with so far! Will make sure to post pictures when I have it!

Was VERY tempted to do a tellurium copper insert with the v-grooves, but looks like that may just be a future purchase 👍

is it only “welded” on backside? Looks like a one piece head with some no filler “welds” added to the back

Still love mine i had 9 years ago.

did his price are still a good value for a custom putter?

I love my blade DD201 but would like one with a slight longer neck. Like between a standard and a long neck.

Good question! That would be weird if so. Can't tell if it's just the angle. I'll report back when it arrives safely in California.

I don't think Kari does "one-piece" heads with flow necks. Every flow neck putter I've had from him - 3 in total - has had a welded neck.

Kari does one piece flow necks!! But not if you're looking for a "pipe" or "round" flow neck. He actually charges extra for welded necks, but the one piece flow (or plumber neck) is included in the listed price. He has things designed so that he can CNC two putters from one steel block, so he actually prefers the one piece designs (and thus the cheaper price compared to welded necks). Here is an example:

He has 2 types of flow necks as well that one and the FN22 neck which is the Cam Smith neck.

I keep an eye on his instagram and some of the stamping and looks he has been putting out have been so good. Maybe it just fits my eye, but it seems like he is really finding his look. His two most recent workbench drops are beautiful

He's definitely had a bit of a revitalization with his work. His website got a refresh with more info on it, his photos have improved a ton, his work either custom or workbench have been some of his best recently.

Like that lefty Sensor with the flange step delete, I really liked that to the point I'd copy like 75% of the build. I've also always wanted a DD201 so I might just buy 2 cause I get a small discount on exchange rate and no extra taxes so I'd probably get 2 from Kari for a bit more than 1 from the US right now.

Update for the thread. I'm no professional photographer, but here's a few pictures I snapped after taking it out of the box today. What a lovely putter! Definitely see another DD201 in my future in either a near face balanced long-neck, or a single bend with a seamless tellurium insert. Kari's prices are so reasonable to the US, and the EP headcover was the cherry on top 👏. Artisan uses EP too, and they're easily my favorite covers.
