Okay, I have had my eye on a LaJosi for a couple of years now and after tinkering with putters for the past 4-5 years, my wife finally called me out to quit messing around and just stick with one (that doesn’t sound as fun as tinkering), which meant she also told me to just order a custom one! Reading through the thread, how did you come about getting the Teryllium inserts? Also, did you reach out to Kari after placing the order or before to talk through details?

Just email Kari and outline what you are looking for, especially if it's not one of the options in the online configurator.  He'll confirm the specs with you before placing the order.

Okay. I gotcha. I also noticed reading back through the messages that there had been issues with milling lines showing up on oil can finishes? Some people had mentioned that Bead blasting had helped with this? Just curious because I am leaning oil can, but don’t want some of the results that I have seen on posts from last year.

Kari told me he could change the milling line to your preference, just make sure to let him know. Most options are included, but different metals, etc have upcharges. I asked for some timascus tour dots which were $60 each. Also, make sure to remember that his prices are in AUD, so if you are usd, it's not bad at all. 

 

Excited for mine coming in, but the only way to justify such a nice putter was that I promised myself I'd stay off BST for at least a year.....

Yeah, I currently have a Bettinardi that I am selling to help offset some of the cost. Lol, the goal of this is to develop a multi year commitment to a specific putter. I’m assuming he also offers additional grips other than what is listed on the sheet?

 

I will probably reach out to him once the Bettinardi moves and see what he has to say in terms of milling lines and all that.

I owned and used a few different Lajosi putters. My absolute favorite was the Sensor with a copper insert and mid depth face milling. This was the one below. If you like the shape, it’s a real winner. I stupidly sold it, because, you know, that’s what I do.

Does anyone have experience with the DD201WB? Is it kinda like a square back Scotty? I’ve been using a Newport for the last two years, but kinda have my eyes on something a little wider.

I don't think it resembles the square back. Mine has rounded bumpers like your Newport and I don't believe it's as wide front to back.

Gotcha. Sounds like it may be about what I’m looking for then. The standard DD201 is just a normal blade isn’t it?

This is what the standard DD201 looks like. I owned this carbon one with serrated v grooves a while back. Man did it feel nice. I probably should have kept it, but I, of course, did not. This wasn’t a custom, I just bought it from the workbench.

Dang! That thing does look sweet! Due to some personal connections with some of the stamping options, I would probably be going with the customized option even though some of the work bench models are pretty sweet!

 

Does anyone know what the recommended up keep is for the oil can? Trying to decide between that and the black.

How was the feel on this one? Softness level and sound?

Not as soft as you would think and the sound was a muted click. It was the best feeling Lajosi putter I tried out of the following plumbers necks: stainless Bayzie with true spiral face, stainless Sensor WB with true spiral face, copper insert stainless Sensor with mid depth standard face, carbon tour sensor with very light milling, gold plated tour sensor with v grooves, and silver plated tour sensor with mid depth standard face. The silver plated tour sensor was a close second. I always preferred Kari’s pieces with some depth on the face. His cavity thickness must be a little thin or something because the faces need some milled depth for my preference.

Hey guys quick question, so I recently got my GSS Sensor from Kari and i’m looking to throw on a stability shaft. I dm’d Kari and asked for the tip diameter and he said he thinks it’s a .370. Does anyone have experience or know for sure?

Just measured my Sensor and got 0.368 (graphite shaft) so yeah 3.70 would be it. If you're sending it to BGT they'll build it without issue.

My Sensor kinda got shelved last year after some awful putting rounds with it. Honestly at one point I was contemplating selling it cause I wasn't enjoying it. 

 

Figured a grip change could be all I need. Went from a thick WinnX 1.32" to a Golf Pride Green Cord. Holy moly this thing came alive. Played it in a scramble today and outside of 1 bad putt I had I was rolling the ball well and having some really good looks at putts. 

 

I don't think it would quite be a gamer for me it does have very little toe hang and more offset than I prefer but it's a different look and confidence is up with it.

I had these three made for me, then sold them all. I had better results with the regular Sensor.
