Best bargain hybrid available now?

I currently bag a G20 2h that I use exclusively off the tee, and a Speedblade 6iron as my longest hitting iron. I need a 3 and a 4.5 hybrid that are easy to hit off the deck or tee even on bad days, and I mainly want them to go straight.

 

There are a lot of great deals out now. You can get Jetspeeds and SLDR cheap, and this site has 10% off these clubs, including various Adams clubs, Nike, etc. I have very little experience with hybrids, but want to give it a go. Adjustability would be nice to have but not required.

 

Can you help suggest some good candidates or clubs to avoid?

[/quote]just do it myself......club heads don't break the shafts do sometimes but for cheap hybrid I just throw it away and buy another, if I like it I just reshaft it myself.....warranty is always through manufacturer anyway, not through the store....their just a middleman

they were $60 as recent as yesterday.. I know for sure because I had two in cart (a 4 and 5 hybrid non beta version, and i was going back and forth if I wanted them or not) I'm sure rockbottom will have another sale soon

The early Father's Day sale is over. (Both the regular XCG7 and XCG7 beta hybrids were part of the $60 no brainer sale. the Mizuno JPX EZ hybrids and fairways were also part of that $60 sale) But.......they have offered these for $60 a couple of times. I bought the 3 & 4 for $60 each the last time they were on sale. Super deal! RBG blows out Tour Edge Exotics at really good prices once the new models arrive and last years models are still in the warehouse.

The most reliable hybrid off the deck for me - and I've tried several - is the Taylormade Rescue Mid with lightweight steel shaft. Loads of them on ebay. You can truly play them like irons because they actually feel and behave like irons when you swing them. Don't overlook these - they are ultra reliable off the deck.

Hogan Edge CFT. I've always preferred an iron style/smaller headed hybrid and this was one was always one of my favs at address. No obvious offset or draw bias. Just a real nice basic iron replacement club.

The Callaway X2 Hot hybrids are very easy to hit and you can get them pretty cheap. They also have plenty of distance.

An XCG 7 at $60 is an amazing deal. Just watch which shaft you get because they have several options, most of which are quite light. That's my beef with many of the various hybrids these days. I bought a set of Cleveland 588 hybrids and really liked the heads, but the shafts were too light - in the 60 gram range. I wound up reshafting which added cost. The Clevelands are a great choice for people that want a lightweight option though.

At less than $50, this is a solid deal on a solid hybrid.

The stock VS Proto will launch lasers. I think they have a white Matrix shaft stock as well. I haven't used the Matrix shaft, so I can't comment. I have the VS Proto in my hybrid.

What about the Cally X2 Hot. Pricing on these have plummeted recently with the XR line out.

X2 Hot Pro Hybrids are excellent. Nice shape, consistent, workable.

The RBZ and RBZ Stage 2 can be had on eBay for next to nothing these days, south of $50 in many cases. I've played both and have never found a hybrid with a hotter face.

I'll continue to sing the praises of my Nickent 3DX Ironwoods. Had the one I'm currently playing for over 11 years now, keep coming back to it. Several loft/shaft combos available on eBay for very cheap. Not the hottest or most tech but nice looking at address and consistent with a great ball flight.

So are the Adams Pro Mini (which is basically the the same club). I got the 3(20 degree) for 50 bucks at budget golf with Aldila Tour Green.

While these are great clubs, they might not be as forgiving as what the OP is looking for,

My friends all think I'm crazy but I have that shaft in x stiff at 102g. The hybrid is 17 degrees and its so stable. Just point and shoot. I hit it between 230-240 off the tee when I flush it. Has been saving my rounds for years.

Cleveland classics... just picked up the 3h for $34 off the bay. Matrix shaft, sits square, and you can't beat the price on these.

Wilson FG Tour M3 w/ RIP Phenom shaft goes for around 60-70$ on eBay. Comes with three different sole weights and adjustable loft and lie.
Great sticks and really replaced my 3/4 iron distances.
Not overly hot rocket faces, but long enough.......great shaft.
