OP you said it in the original post the Jetspeed. They are great, long and forgiving You can pick them up cheap. I have seen them on the bay in sets of 2 or 3 for like 60 bucks. I have my 3 in the bag and its not leaving.

RBZ Stage 2 hybrids are good and cheap these days. I have the Tour TP version which I love, but the regular version is literally $10 on globalgolf right now.

Titleist 909H or 910H... I can't seem to leave my 909H. Since its filling in a specific gap (200-215) and I hit it solid, I haven't found the desire to replace it.

If I did I would look at some Adams Pro Hyrbids... I hit those and they were really nice!

LOTS of really good hybrids out there. But don't go by their iron# or lofts... hit them to see what distance you want. One 23 degree may be as long as another's 19 degree. Especially if you're going between generations.

Adams xtd pro hybrid from last year is a good value. My local shop was selling them for $60 out the door. Came with an aldila tour red shaft installed.

You can get a brand new sldr on eBay for under $100. I have one in my bag and it is awesome. One of the most fun clubs to hit. Conversely I tried the jet speed and I didn't love it. The sldr feels heavier and more iron like to me. I don't know exact swing weight but it does come with a heavier shaft if that matters to you.

I play SLDR S hybrids. In my bag is a 3 and 5...they both fit nicely. I never really had a use for a 4 and the 5 fits nicely on par 3's.

I have a sldr 3 hybrid with a diamana stiff shaft in it in awesome condition if anyone is interested just PM me. I am using the r15 hybrids now so the sldr is just sitting here in my office.

Sorry for the delay in my response; there's been a lot to mull over here, and I appreciate all the great suggestions. Hard to pick! I have limited experience with hybrids, having only owned one - my G20 17*. It has a heavy, stiff 85g shaft in it; I like it, but don't know if I'd do better with different. It has kind of a long blade and is narrow; I don't love that aspect. I think I'd feel more comfortable over a shorter, wider head (same goes for irons - I like the look of a shorter blade length), although forgiveness is preferred over workability at this distance. Need to go hit some clubs I think.

My 5 iron is at 26*. Would a 20/21 and 23/24 hybrid gap nicely, or be way hotter/longer?

Among the clubs you can still find new, it looks like XCG7 is very popular, along with X2 Hot and Adams clubs like XTD Ti. The Pro Hybrids look nice and are on sale all over the place and got some serious love on one particular website; how might these stack up against the others mentioned here? ...or one of the others I noted based on the preferences noted above?

The main knock on the older clubs would be availability in specific lofts, shafts, etc.

g25 hybrids are as easy to hit as it gets. SLDR hyrbids are cheap right now....they're decent. I'd start with those two

[/quote]Gaps fine for me. My i20 5-iron is a 180 club. My 22* hybrid goes 195, 17* goes 210. I also own an i20 4-iron that I'll put in for certain courses and it goes about 190. Trajectory and playability is far better with the hybrid. Of course, you may see something different based on your swing. 4-iron is that point for me where my trajectory is optimized better in the hybrid based on my swing speed.

Find an adjustable model like the 910, RBZ, etc and you can find the shaft you want on eBay if needed.

try a 20/23 or a 18/22. I have both and they, for me, gap really well. I recently picked up a 20 adams a12 with a nv105 from the bst- very solid club for cheap.
