No glove/PURE pro grips here

Have a UTX on my driver and it is awful. Going to cut it off this week and blow a PURE on it.

Looking for firm/low torque grips to play in humid weather with bare hands. No leather and no cords.

Considering Lamkin UTX and Golf Pride CP2 Pro, Tour Velvet Super Tack and ND Multicompound. Any others to consider?
The UTx and the ND Multicompound are both corded grips, FYI.

I play without a glove and I personally like the Pure DTX grips. They aren't firm, per se, but they aren't Winn sofftie either. I've also had good luck with the Karma brand velvet style grips.

Pure DTX... On all my Irons..

Golf Pride 2G Tours on all my long clubs... Woods/Driver/Hybrids

Yes...

I use two diffence grips...

I use two different GP's too.... Midsize on everything but driver...

Use a Jumbo with 8 wraps on my driver...

Gloves are really odd to me... I can't swing a club with one on so I like to use grips to help with how I grip certain clubs...

I like my driver to feel looser in my hand than a wedge... And oversizing it helps..

I like the Pure DTX's cause they feel firmly planted yet pliable.... and the 2G because it feels more substantial

There must be 10 threads revolving around what are the "tackiest" grips or "what girls to play in humidity/hot weather" and also "what grips to play if you don't wear a glove".

As long as you don't mind a super tacky/sticky grip the best by far is the Gripmaster leather grips.
I trial grips to see what we stock in the shop where I work, Iomic, No1, any Golf Pride, Lamkin including the iLine, Pure, Superstroke and any miscellaneous no name brands that come knocking on our door.

I work at a high volume on course shop (we do 150,000 rounds a year) and haven't had any negative feedback about them.

They aren't the cheapest option out there, but they last 2-3 times longer than any rubber grip I have come across.

I go with Tour Velvets also. Very low humidity here, though.

Without a doubt nothing even comes close to Gripmasters for ALL types of conditions. Anyone that says otherwise.....has never tried them. :)
Absolutely agree! I would never even look at a leather grip, but was persuaded to take a gander at them at a Club builder near me. Boy was I surprised just how fantastic these grips are. As you say, anyone who says otherwise, probably hasn't tried them.

I use the Golf Pride Tour Wrap V2 and don't wear a glove. They are a bit soft but I prefer that. The only issue with them is rain gloves are needed as they get really slick in wet weather. Otherwise they work well. I've been using them for three years now and during my rounds I don't even think about grips. I give them a wipe down with a damp towel every other round and that's it.

Pure DTX for me. They have a slightly rough texture to them that gives you plenty of grip with sweaty hands or damp hands from rain. They are also nice and tacky. They don't kill your hands and give you plenty of grip.

Hi Games,

only one grip you mentioned fits your search profile - Tour Velvet Super Tack.

UTX - Fullcord Grip
ND MC - Half Cord Grip
CP2 - Super Soft - My personal grip of choice right now - no glove user for quite some time

but as others stated - the best no glove grip of all time is a good leather grip like The Gripmaster or Bestgrips. The more moisture, the tackier they get. It's almost unbelieveable, how good these grips are. I played those, while we carried The Gripmaster as a distributor. We stopped carrying them, because of the guy running the European central distribution had some funny ideas on how to run his business. If we would still sell those, they would be on my clubs for sure.

I almost ordered a set of Bestgrips when I build my new irons, but I try not to play stuff, that we don't carry as a distributor, so I went with the CP2 Wraps.

Regards,
Michael

Thanks to all who replied, especially those recommending GripMaster.

My gamer irons have Golf Pride leather slip-ons that were made by GripMaster (even have the buckskin symbol on the grip cap). These are the grips that came green in the package, then turned black as they aerate. I bought them at least 10 years ago on eBay, and installed them in my gamers two years ago. They are PHENOMENAL and still tacky, even 10 years (minimum) after production!

The problem is they are standard size, and I am starting to feel signs of arthritis in my fingers. (Partly due to golf; more likely due to lots of bowling in college and as an adult.) I need to move the grip to the palm, and will need to move to a midsize grip. I'd love to stay with Gripmaster (or forum sponsor Best Grips), but the upfront cost is more than I wish to pay, which is why I stated "no leather" in my OP. But, I love the GripMaster grips and share everyone's affection for them.

I have these in all of my gamer FWs and in a backup set of irons. REALLY like them! Even with the layer of perma-sweat that surrounds my hands in humidity above 50%. I'm just concerned about lack of traction when it rains. Never been in the rain with them, and don't know if I want to be...

I have tried a bunch as well and always come back to Iomic Stickys. I am too scared to try gripmaster because if i really like it, it is going to cost like $300 to do all my clubs. I did try one of their putter grips though. I wasnt too happy with it. It was basically a leather version of a superstroke but it was really slippery. It may need a break in period but I just didnt have the patience for it.

Just curious but which model of the gripmasters do you recommend? I have no idea what the difference is between the different types of leathers that they have.

Another vote here for Pure grips. I've used the DTX and the Pros and love them both. Excellent grips at a reasonable price.

Another here for Gripmaster or Best Grips leather. Give them 1 week and you WILL NOT go back. Can play bare handed in the pouring rain if you have to. Been there done that.

Here is one thing I noticed with my Pure's a couple rounds ago. About hole 4-7 it poured. We initially hung out in a shelter, but after it let up some, we trudged on. I couldnt even hold onto the club during the swing. After it stopped raining and got a bit steamy, the grips got tackier than duct tape, which I like. Now I dont usually play in the rain, but getting caught in it really messed me (and my score) up. Shot a 46 on that 9 and a 36 on the back. Those 4 holes I played at +7.

That's interesting. I've only played a few times in the rain with mine but they were not slick. That's about the worst thing that can happen is slick grips. It makes it impossible to play.

It is VERY tacky. Also, it isn't tapered like most grips on the market. They liken it to having 3 extra wraps under your lower hand. I really like the stitching running down the back as well, I use it as a reference when gripping the club. I wouldn't say that they are soft but they aren't hard either. It is very easy to grip the club softly when you are holding a grip as tacky as these babies are. They are on the expensive side so, I would recommend installing one on your driver and one on the wedge that you use most often around the greens to start. That should give you a good sense of how they perform for you in most situations. Best of luck, I absolutely LOVE mine.
