Best conditioned golf course you have played

Haven't read all seven pages, but by far the best conditioned I've played is the Milwaukee CC (#62 on current Golf Digest Best Courses list). Pristine, albeit a true blue blood course.

 

 

Love Milwaukee CC. What do you mean by "A true blue blood course" - that's a new term to me :)

 

Old Milwaukee money, got to know the right people or be from the right family to get an invitation to be a member (you just don't apply for membership). New money doesn't necessarily get you in. Haven't been around there in 10 years, but that's the way it used to be.

The courses in people's backyards are usually in the best shape -- Canyata, Rich Harvest Farms, Porcupine Creek. The Quarry is usually in great shape. Shadow Creek and some of the top East Coast clubs seems to be nearly perfect.

Muirfield Village ... my #2 vote. What a course

 

Royal Melbourne #1 ... was insane. Greens so good (firm and fast) you can run your push carts over them

 

Man I would love to get on Muirfield. I am sure it is next to impossible though right?

Not really. You just have to know or a member. Sometimes you can find rounds in charity auctions as well. The nice about muirfield is there seems to be a decent size member base and a good majority of them seem to be local to Columbus. The course is almost always full on weekends.

 

I think I've played the course 6-8 times now. With 4 different members.

Sounds like I need to meet some members! My golfing buddy and me were there for Memorial last year. It is a breathtaking course. I haven't been to Augusta yet to see it but Muirfield was the best conditioned course I have ever seen. It is an amazing place for sure.

Shore Acres- perfection

Ocean Course at Kiawah and Haig Point on Daufuskie Island. Not a blade of grass out of place on either course and the greens rolled as true as I've ever seen.

1: Isleworth, Orlando FL - Was easily the best conditioned course I've played, fairways, tees and rough were all bright green and very plush. Greens were rolling very fast and in great shape.

 

2: Concession GC, Bradenton FL - Also a very well conditioned course with very pure fairways and fast greens.

 

Public:

1: TPC Sawgrass: Fairways were imaculate, as were the tee boxes (especially par 3s), greens werent all that fast but still in terrific shape (played it 3 weeks ago).

 

2: Streamsong: Fairways were awesome and so pure and the greens rolled well.

 

3. Saratoga National: Fairways again were awesome with nice teeboxes and quick greens.

 

4: TPC Myrtle Beach: Some of the best greens I've ever played on.

I loved TPC Myrtle Beach as well. Great Layout as are most Fazio designs I have played.

Ridgewood CC, the course I grew up playing. I've been fortunate to play some amazing courses but I still don't think anywhere compares to how immaculate RCC is year over year. I daydream about those greens and fairways as well as the overall look & feel of the place.

2. Cherokee Plantation- seemed to me that I was the first person to ever play the course. Did not see one divot or ball mark.

I second Bighorn - The conditioning on the Mountains course there is just silly.

Was fortunate enough to play TPC Deere Run the week before the JD Classic.

Course was playing fast, rough was healthy, greens were immaculate.

 

Super fun to play with the grandstands up as well...
