Oral dhea supplements won't provide any performance enhancement, maybe transdermal dhea would give a little boost for someone over 45 with declining dhea levels, but not a whole lot. Nicotine and caffeine provide far more performance enhancement.

Just looked up dhea on WebMD, one of the possible side effects is fatigue. Also said, as did an earlier poster, that no benefits can be ascribed to the substance. It's an otc supplement, maybe he needs a new doc.

I can't find the article right now, but I have read that they do have an on-call person in charge of this who is always accessible for questions and to give a thumbs up, thumbs down.

There's no doubt in my mind that the complete list of banned substances is sent to players any time it's updated. I find it hard to believe that any athlete subject to testing would take anything at all without checking.

Kudos to the guy for calling it on himself. But wouldnt this be on the tip of all tour pros when they get prescribed something at the doctors? Wouldnt the first thing out of their mouths be "okay you are prescribing something, is that on the banned list?" Hindsight is 20-20 and all but still. i want to give him the benefit of the doubt but in so many sports people always use the "doctor prescribed it" excuse that it makes me think that they're either stupid and just blindly take medication or know it's not legal and don't ask team trainers or pga officials so they can use the doctor excuse
