Tried to luv the PM 60. Tried and tried and tried. Dig all things Phil. Deeps, #9 putters, etc. Funky looks, almost got over it. Full shots, forget it. The head is awkward and heavy which I decided I didn't like, but my #1 peeve is the Tour V 125 stock shaft. It's ridiculously stiff in a wedge and it's little wonder no one enjoys hitting full shots with the PM. I've had most every wedge shaft in play and this is the first one I've hated. Bone jarring!!! Picked up an Eye2 Gorge Lob instead, winner.

I have no idea why, but I hated the shaft as well. I'm not a fast swinger, don't create any forceful load on the shaft etc., but it never agreed with me. As funny as it sounds, I love the SSx2 X100 shaft that I put in it(now have a 54 & 58 although slow to update my sig). Looks different, but now feels like any other firmer/cast wedge to me. Still don't hit full shots with a 58(no good for me no matter the wedge), but I will hit almost full shots with the 54.

The wedges are pretty heavy though, I will agree. No tip weight, standard length, still at a D5.

I use 50aw/55pm(56 bent to 55)/60pm.

for those who asked using the both pm;

- For bunker shot, I choose one of them according to the sand's condition.

For lighter and fluppy sand I go with 56(55). and for heavier and solid thin sand, I go with 60.

- at first, J had a hard time to hit full shots with them because its leading edge is rounded for me. but once I used to it, it is fine now.

- mostly around green, I go with 60

- aproach shots greater than 30yard I tend to grab 55.

- you can open 60 up like crazy.

- because of wider face and grind, it is really beneficial greenside rough.

- when you open the club, the leading edge sits on the ground tight.

one down side to me: cannot hoing new wedges on the market anymore.

hope this help.

I have the 56 bent to 53 and the 60 bent to 58.....love them, zero issues with full shots. I hit the 58 about 95 and the 53 in the 120 range. On mid range half shots I can hit low spinners that stop on a dime. I find them extremely versatile.....and surprisingly love the shape....with a little custom finish

Any reason you bent the 60 to 58 instead of buying the 58?

considering getting the 64, can anyone talk me out of it?

Nope, just do it!

I went 50/54/58 to 50/58/64 and like it for the most part (64 PM). I'm thinking I might replace the 50 with a 52 just to lessen the gap. I can hit the 58 around 95 yards with a good standard swing, get about 118 with the 50, but I hardly ever take full swings with the 64. I consider it more my get out of jail free card on really short sided shots. I do need to put in some time with the 64 and learn how to hit it a little more consistently, because right now it'll save me net 0 strokes a round. I'll get one close from just nothing, then flub a fairly straight forward pitch with it.

Really like the PM grind wedges. I play the 60* and use it primarily around the greens and in bunkers. I have noticed that I don't need to open the face as much in traps and the ball does come out lower than other wedges.

I do struggle with full shots with it.

Can you tell us how you did that finish? Was it just a black one that you torched or something? It looks awesome

They were black, stripped them with CLR, hit them with a green scotch brute to get this result

de0c1785a23e066632938d2fb37c56fd.jpg

Wiped them with acetone (let dry) and then popped them in a convection oven set to 525 for 45 minutes. Let them cool, and did the paint fill, and the end result is that finish. Lucky......it was just an experiment.

Ended up with the same verdict especially in light of trying to play a 60 PM over length. Never liked it for full shots, had a short love affair early on on chip shots. Planing to give RTX3 a test drive after hitting them recently in the store

well folks .... as a 2year user of 3 -pm grinds i should have known given the oppurtunity i would relapse to them if given a chance....vokeys were good , but just not as versitile or as easy with a full shot....my mentor with tour ties dropped 3 raw heads in my lap this weekend and after shafting and a practice 9 im re-hooked... you just cant hit a straighter wedge for full shots and a easier to use one for all other shots.... god bless roger cleveland! 56 bent to 53... 60 bent to 57 and a 64 bent to 62 is here to stay....

PM 58 is my favorite club in the bag and is extremely versatile. No problem with full shots (actually like it better than my 54 MD3 Milled) and it's just fabulous around the greens.

Cant wait to use mine tbis year. I have a 56, 60 and 64 i picked up last year but didnt use. Also have a 58 still in plastic but im planning on not using it.

After what Nicbolas did bending and havinv no issues im going to bend my 56 to 54 and then see now it woeks out with the 6 degree gap between that and the 60 vs the 6 degree gap between my Ping i 50 degree and 56 degree pm.

Sorta like the 54, 58, 62 idea too.

Yes sir ! You have to get over the looks 1st off. And they are heavy. Which I like. But if you don't the porting on the back could alwasy be drilled out more to lessen the weight.

For a lob wedge it is no doubt the easiest to use ever made. I would also suggest being open to bending a few degrees strong if need be to cover yardage gaps on full shots. It tends to play higher than the stated loft. Yet somehow is easier to flight down for me too. Works wonderful layed open so you can gain the extra loft back easily.

I have never had an issue with full swings with either of my PM Grinds. I don't get the same distance as my old 58 (MD2 U) on full swings, but it was a relatively easy transition once I realized that the ball just comes off the face different. I can still hit it about 80-90 yards and I rarely need to go for 100% swings. The 64 really only goes about 64 yards so it isn't often that it is needed.
