The Rider is the best bag they make. Quality is excellent. For me it's my staff bag. I wanted a staff bag without an OEM logo and all the bizarre graphics and lines bags of today seem to have. The look is simple with a very cool retro vibe. And although I don't walk with it, it's unbelievably light. Even got my name on it. Can't recommend it enough.

Well, I done got old a while back. I usually ride a cart but, I like a stand bag for the range and will often carry it there. Afterward, I will strap it to a cart. Besides, I still like the look of a slimmer bag and i don't keep much in the bag, except some balls and a battery for my rangefinder. I just can't get into a big cart bag like the Sun Mountain C-130. I use a Hoofer now but, even with its 8 or 8.5 inch opening, I still get a bit of club tangle. The bag is coming apart at the bottom so i am looking for a new one and the Jones bags look, as diciccoritti says, damn sexy!

I have a Players Series and I really like it. Coming from carrying a Ping Hoofer for years, the light weight is great. Simple design, easy to use. I get a lot of compliments as well.

 

How do you like the Players Series? Does it fit 14 clubs with no problem? I'm leaning towards picking one up this season.

I love all things traditional, and Jones bags definitely appeal to that penchant of mine. However, I am one who prefers the single strap over the backpack strap and yet do not like to lay my bag and clubs on the ground. I much prefer the single strap stand bag. Will take the added weight over the wet club heads and necessary stoop to pick it up any day of the week.

Same here. I've eyed up the stand bags since they were released.

Still worry about fitting 12-14 clubs in there though, last thing I want is to fight my clubs when getting them in and out.

Then don't get it- the bag is definitely tight!

I have had a few people like the bag, comment on how it's very classic looking, have actually had two order bags. Most people comment on how small it is or how come it doesn't have legs.

Ah well, the Declaration of Independence defied the entire idea of a proper colony. I ask only for a small concession for a space large enough to hold a full set of clubs with easy ingress and egress and only enough dividers to prevent club tangle; in this case, evolution rather than revolution.

A question for anyone who has caddied out there - would you rather carry a Jones bag without a stand or something like a Ping 4-Series with a stand? I've heard the Jones bag is the ultimate carry bag (for player and caddie) but it seems to me that if I was a caddie, i would rather carry a bag that I would set down on a stand to catch a break once in awhile instead of laying the bag down on the ground and then bending over to pick it up. Thoughts?

Used mine twice this year at Erin Hills in WI and the caddies all loved it- said the comfiest strap they've ever used!

Maybe. But I bet those interested in the stand model would also be interested in another 1" diameter top. Not interested in a 14 way or anything crazy, just something functional.

I quite agree! Regarding their stand bag, if they made a slightly larger top with a 4 or 5 way divider system, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

IMO the whole point of the Jones Bag is that is small and ultra lightweight and super easy to carry. Once they start making them bigger with more dividers and stands - they're making just another bag. I dont think their cart/stand bags are all that special or that feature-wise they really stand out from the 100s of other cart/stand bags out there - for the price. Just my opinion.

I've had no issues with mine at all. Carried backwards, it is the most comfortable walking bag I've ever had. It is worlds better and more comfortable than even my Titleist Ultra Lightweight bag with the double strap.

What stands out to me is the single strap! 99% of those 100's of other stand bags out there have backpack straps. Love the single strap and the stand.
