I've read this whole thread and it's amazing to me what some will do to try and steal a dollar. All this makes me all the more uncomfortable to use the BST.

If I don't hear from my seller in 48 hours, I'll be making a similar thread. Complete with all PM's and screen shots of PayPal transactions.
That is what I said...certainly not feeling awesome about BST right now...
24,220 positive transactions in the last year
39 negative transactions in the last year
19 neutral in the last year

That's 0.002% of all transactions that have a less than positive outcome and 0.001% that are negative. You're fine dealing on the BST.
Just takes much more prudence and detective work now. Oh well, that's life. It IS 10x better than eBay.
Really ..... ...... if you really think the BST is a perfect entity ... and E bay is hell on wheels .... well don't be so sure of yourself ...
If you're that paranoid, don't deal on the bst. It's that simple. 1/10th of 1 percent is about as good as it gets. Nothing is perfect but you're safer dealing here than eBay. But hey, again, if you're paranoid about the bst, just buy new at a store. You see occasional threads about bad bst deals. If we had threads about good bst deals the bad deal threads would get buried

I would sell on here any day before selling on ebay. Half the buyers on ebay are nutty and unrealistic.

One guy complained I used signature confirmation for a $200 item. Just had a guy today complain there were scratches on the sole of the putter I sold him. I had a very clear pic of the sole and listed it in very good condition. There was maybe one tiny mark on it.

The only thing bad about BST is everyone here is a bunch of cheap a$$es and it forces me to sell on ebay to freaks! Haha.
Take the good with the bad right??

You're from Wisconsin...you're automatically a cheap a$$!!

I did a trade with sosinsurr (Dustin) a few years ago. Luckily for me, he sent the clubs as agreed upon.

Anyone contact PD? Laws were broken and I sincerely think that it would be worth at least contacting his local authorities. Chris/Dustin is one guy. He is a scammer and a thief. His replies here clearly show he knows how serious this really is. And he needs to be held accountable. Would LOVE to hear that he got hooked up.

So is this like some sort of money laundering scheme? I don't understand the multiple PP addresses.
Makes it easier for scammer to collect and not be traced. So long, that is, as the PP accounts tie into different bank accounts.

The scammer in this case was deep into it. And apparently had been for some time. No telling how many people he scammed, how much he got away with, or how many times. Which is exactly why I hope that law enforcement has become involved.

Call PP and see if you can get fortunate enough to get some answers. And if you have not called the police do so.

Sorry .... but i don't really care how much you say the BST is everything anyone ever wanted in a buying / selling event ... either you choose to ignore it or act like it does not exist .. but there are problems with the BST and there is not a week or even at times days where someone complains about getting screwed .... yeah e bay has it's issues but it's not as bad as you tell others it is and my experience there has been a good one both selling and buying ..... and you might not think i know but 15 years and 899 positive feedback with 100% rating ... i know .....

with that said this is NOT a pissing match ... everyone is allowed a opinion good or bad .... just like most things rarely are things as great or as terrible as people let on .. with some exceptions and just remember this ..... you are a long time member with a very good feedback and the BST comes easy for you and most others here in the same position you are and buyers like me or most other members i would bet have a high level of confidence that any BST expeience will be a great one but for those who have little tenure and little to no selling experience or feedback on the BST .. it is difficult to expect some here to fork out hundreds of dollars for something they are not completely sure they will recieve what they purchased.... especially when there is multiple threads that are multiple pages about people getting screwed on the BST.... or not be apprehensive even taking a chance ..... call me crazy though

Everyone has a level of risk tolerance..... The deal you get is often in proportion to this. You have to be comfortable with the idea of getting burned and having to go through pains to get your money back in order to play. If you can't afford to be without the money for a week or two, then you should be taking a safer route by purchasing from a store or an ebay power seller with thousands of good feedback.

So what makes ebay this enchanted land of success? Is it because you and your friends haven't had a bad buy yet? One thing ebay has done is basically run most of the small sellers off so you're buying from legit, large golf club operations instead of the guy down the street like on here. I'm sure if ebay had a forum that allowed people to complain about issues that you'd probably never want to buy from them either.

Our BST has issues, and like most things on the internet, only negative stories tend to be published. But as mentioned before, there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of successful transactions for every one that goes sideways. If you want to avoid it because you're scared of being ripped off, go for it, just realize you're removing yourself from a pretty great market.

Oh yeah, and use some common sense. I would never buy from a seller with bad feedback or from someone that asks to do the majority of the transaction outside of the WRX PM system.

What issues? Your eyes are VERY VERY DECEIVING. See below. Simple math tells us 0.001% of all transactions end in negative feedback. Do you really think Ebay has a better success rate then this? Also these numbers are skewed towards more negative than there should be (% wise) since tons of positive feedbacks go unposted but no one ever doesn't post a negative

Sorry .... but i don't really care how much you say the BST is everything anyone ever wanted in a buying / selling event ... either you choose to ignore it or act like it does not exist .. but there are problems with the BST and there is not a week or even at times days where someone complains about getting screwed .... yeah e bay has it's issues but it's not as bad as you tell others it is and my experience there has been a good one both selling and buying ..... and you might not think i know but 15 years and 899 positive feedback with 100% rating ... i know .....

with that said this is NOT a pissing match ... everyone is allowed a opinion good or bad .... just like most things rarely are things as great or as terrible as people let on .. with some exceptions and just remember this ..... you are a long time member with a very good feedback and the BST comes easy for you and most others here in the same position you are and buyers like me or most other members i would bet have a high level of confidence that any BST expeience will be a great one but for those who have little tenure and little to no selling experience or feedback on the BST .. it is difficult to expect some here to fork out hundreds of dollars for something they are not completely sure they will recieve what they purchased.... especially when there is multiple threads that are multiple pages about people getting screwed on the BST.... or not be apprehensive even taking a chance ..... call me crazy though

That's the only thing I agreed with in your post.

says a guy with 75 feedback. you literally just made his point for him. it is easy to feel comfortable after 75 transactions. Below 20 and it feels like you are still getting your feet wet.

The BST is just as safe as eBay if you have the slightest bit of common sense.

Common sense= NOT GIFTING.

I didn't gift money and I'm out $360...

People in here (the forums, not this thread specifically) complain about communication, or the fact that they wanted the item yesterday, or the seller didn't respond within 3.2 seconds, or they haven't gotten the tracking number even though the item arrived 2 days ago, or they put in an offer on a week old item and wanted it to be agreed upon even though the item is already shipped to someone else who paid double what their offer is. The biggest issue with the BST is lack of communication of expectations UP FRONT before money even exchanges hands. 90% of the problems could be solved with that getting cleared up in the second/third/fourth PM during negotiations.

There really aren't many hard problems; i.e. people getting scammed in the BST. This thread, whether there are 1 or 2 guys on the "selling" end, is about one of those cases. All other instances have wrapped up with the offending party being banned. Since this one isn't settled, that hasn't occurred yet.
