Nothing like driving up to your house with golf clubs delivered at front door...

The stuff I ordered from Callaway pre-owned last week showed up over the Labor Day holiday, and I pulled in last night to find my new clubs waiting on me. I had to unload the car, but after that immediately tore into the box like a kid at Christmas. Bought an XR Pro Driver and an XR Deep 3 wood...can't wait to try them out. I liked the X2 Hot line so much, and the XR line got such good reviews...so I had to try it out. Will likely be selling some X2 Hots soon!!!

 

How about you guys? New clubs delivered recently? What were they? Excited? Do you like them?

 

I haven't hit mine yet but am going to the range in an hour!!!

You must live in a nice neighborhood. If the UPS guy left clubs on my porch, they'd be gone in 5 minutes. Enjoy!

Lol...my wife and I are pretty open with each other about our purchases either as they are about to happen or soon afterwards. I don't often "hide" them from her, although occasionally I find myself explaining why I've had 4 boxes from Golfsmith / Callaway show up in a month.

Luckily (or unluckily considering your perspective) my wife is a tennis nut, so she gets it. Although she's had the same racquet for several years now. For her, it is clothes. And clothes and more clothes.

Also, I figure this is a quid-pro-quo thing. I generally don't sweat her over her purchases, and she generally doesn't sweat me over mine...although if either one of us starts to get out of hand we'll have a gentle discussion with the other about "wants vs needs" :-)

New MP-54s and mint MP T-4 wedge arrived today, my wife set them next to my recliner downstairs. You are right though feels just like Christmas, seems I have a lot of those days every calendar year.

Trick with wife is this. Shop for motorbike. Borrow one from dealer to 'test' for a weekend. Tell her you bought it. Take it back. Buy clubs. No complaints about clubs.

OK...the thread went in a direction I didn't expect, so let me address that. I do live in a nice neighborhood, and when away for any multi-day period of time we pay some neighborhood kids to watch over things / take care of yard, etc. So I don't worry too much about having them stolen...in fact, I'll sometimes have the kid take to their house and "deliver" for me when they know I'll be back.

As for the clubs, I hit them at the range today. Not sure I'm keeping them. They felt dead compared to the X2 Hots for me. I guess I'm OK with this because it will allow me to buy something else (or save money), but I'm bummed because I had read / heard such good things about the XRs. I will give them one more chance (on the course), and then pick a "winner" after that. Maybe I was just off today...

I've been having things held at the UPS or Fedex store lately makes it way easier parents don't have to see all of the stuff show up to the house so i don't have to hear the ANOTHER GOLF CLUB...YOU NEED TO BE MORE RESPONSIBLE WITH YOUR MONEY BLAH BLAH BLAH

Amen to that Left, had my MP H4s delivered 5 days ealier then expected. I live out in the country on dead end road so don't have to worrie about thievery. But how excited I was to see them sitting there, hot dog! But might have bit off more then I can chew.. My swing might not be up to par for the scoring clubs, but a lot of time at the range has helped. Need to get the lie angle bent and hopefully there my keepers. But how shinny and beautiful they are, priceless lol

Was waiting for my oldest to get off the bus yesterday, wife was at work. UPS man pulls up with a BNIB set of 714 AP2's, timing could not have been better.
