Accra Tour Z ST M4 tipped vs M5

I've been interested in trying the Accra Tour Z for a while and might just bite the bullet soon, but figured I'd come here and ask for some guidance before I purchase.

I've played X flex for my entire life, but I've lost significant swing speed for some reason over the past 2 years. I can still swing X flex, but also might be interested to see if a tipped S flex would be more where I'm at.

My swing speed is around 105, and I'm a high ball / high spin player. I'm leaning toward the ST version to keep the flight down.

I've used 80gram shafts for the most part in my driver, and when I went to the 72gm D+ Diamana, I wasn't as consistent and just didn't feel right.

So, with all of this being said...which way should I go?

M4 (Stiff) tipped...how much?

M5 (X-stiff)

What weight should I try? 65, 75, or 85?

the tour z st is a stouter profile shaft thats similar to the diamana whiteboard...id try a 75 m5 or to maintain your tempo go 85 m4 tipped about 1"...

I picked up a Tour Z 65 ST it is a stout shaft , even in 65 gr! Ifixclubs hit the nail on the head describing the feel , it felt almost identical to a WB . My only problem is that I wish I went with the 75 , but a little lead tape under the grip and above the ferrule will take care of that .

First of all, sweet avatar. Second, I've owned the original Tour Proto which eventually became Tour Z+ and then the ST. I was first fit into a M4-65 tipped 1" and then I had a M5-75 straight in. The M4-65 played very stable for its weight almost to the point it was almost too tip stiff, and the 75 felt heavier and stouter. I did lose some speed with the 75 but it was still smooth and had incredibly tight dispersion. Great shaft once you find one that fits your swing.

On a side note, I also had a Tour Z M5-85 in a FW and really liked that. Currently have a new Tour Z LS M5-85 that I'm waiting to try with the right FW head.

I say you go with the 75 in the M4 and you can always tip more, my experience with the shaft is it plays pretty stout

The Tour Z ST has been my go to shaft for awhile, more then two years, and have played the shaft in multiple heads from R1, SLDR, R15, 915D3, Nike Covert and few others. I have both an M4 and M5 in the 85g Tour Z ST. Both are tipped an 1". Surprisingly the M4 felt significantly softer in the upper end of the shaft, ie. the butt and upper mid sections, the tip section/kick of the M4 felt a little softer and overall the M4 definitely produced a higher ball flight. Now this could be due to what I think is the M5 being a very good fit for me. I generally get much better results from shafts that have stiffer butt sections so it's hard to say if the overall higher flight was was due to what felt like a marginally softer tip or noticeably softer butter section.

I think if you are a hard loader, the M5 is definitely a better fit. I have a more moderate tempo and between the M4 tipped and M5, the difference wasn't as drastic for me.

Thanks for the input guys! I ended up finding one on the bay for quite cheap. Went with a 75 gram M4 tipped 1.5"...hoping this makes it somewhat close to the M5. Worst case scenario, I'm not out that much money.

Really looking forward to putting into the new 915 D3 I have on the way.

I really hope this shaft lives up to everything I've read about it.
