Carry to range, Push 95%, Ride 5%

I have been really struggling to pick out my next bag. I've only owned one bag - a Callaway stand bag of the variety you get for $90 from Costco with maybe 9 dividers, not full length - so my perspective is extremely limited.

Almost all my rounds are pushing with the Clicgear 3.5+. I ride as a last resort. I have a bad back, so walking/carrying is out. I carry the bag to the range and that's it, however, I do like having legs for that purpose. I also like to pop in some extra clubs/shafts for the range sometimes.

I use midsize and Jumbo grips, and my putter grip is one of the old Winn Giant grips (which I might could replace for a slightly smaller grip if necessary). My grips are constantly getting tangled up and I hate it. The top on my current bag is smallish, and I definitely want a larger top.

I'd like having a lot of large pockets to keep organized.

I don't know whether or not I'd prefer a 14 way top or some other system, but if it solved my problems I'd be happy. I'm intrigued by the SM Hybrid or C-130S due to the 11" top, but unfortunately haven't found one in a store to play with. ...only the C-130.

What bags do you recommend? Thanks!

Whatever stand bag you do decide on, get the Clicgear Bag Cozy to attach to your 3.5. I recently bought one, and it makes my Sun Mountain Four 5 fit great! It really locks the top of the bag down nicely.

[/quote]Apart from the bad back (I wouldn't call it "bad" yet...), this describes me perfectly, and I use the SM Hybrid. No oversize grips apart from a SuperStroke on my putter, but the club slots are big enough to handle just about anything IMHO.

Definitely the SM Hybrid or C130S. I've been using a SM Hybrid bag for almost three years on a Clicgear 3.0 and love it. It fits great on the cart and never moves around. The top is great to use and never tangles the clubs. It also works very good on a riding cart. The clubs just spin around 180 degrees. I run my woods and hybrids down the left side, so the change from pushing to riding is not a big deal. The stand works great at the range and is never a problem on the carts. One thing I do is put a small towel between the stand legs and the carts, just to keep them from getting scratched up. Good luck! :-)

Sorry, going to be boring, I'm happy with a SM hybrid as well. Only flaw in it for me is that occasionally I'd like to carry it on a 9 hole course and it only has a single strap, which makes the prospect of carrying quite unappealing. There apparently is a way to get a double carry strap on it, and if you have any interest in a double strap, check with SM.

I actually returned my SM hybrid in favor of the 14 way four 5. I thought overall it was a better bag. It carries great with its more oval profile compared to the rounder hybrid, for those few and far between times I like to carry. With the clicgear bag cozy I mentioned above, it also works very solidly on my 3.5+.

The Nike Hybrid is quite nice. I have the older Performance model and it is a great bag for carrying or on a push cart. The straps remove which is a nice feature when carting of any sort. I use mine primarily on a Flip N Go and it fits perfectly. I love having the stand to take to the range. I love the stand that Nike uses and their straps are fantastic.

Not sure how any 14 way will go with Jumbo grips.

As an aside, this inspired me to fashion a similar device out of water pipe insulation. Works great. Might upgrade to the real deal eventually.

My current bag is more of an oval shape, and that contributes to the outside corner slots having rather acute angles for openings, which causes the clubs to hang up. I'm speculating that a large, squarish top could help eliminate that. Dicks had the SM Hybrid for $120 a while back, before applying the customary 20% off coupon. Missed it. I like the blue ones... Hmm.
