I've hit them on the range twice. Would say the gbb is more forgiving, more draw biased, and probably feels a better. The M1 seems to want to go right and most quickly move it to the upright position. I don't think I pushed or sliced any with the gbb driver. M1 in the standard 10.5, and everything was going right.

It is hard to tell distance of the range bit would think they are close to each other. Just depends on what you need. I hope to hit them again outside and inside to get some numbers soon along with the king ltd.

This is an interesting experience. I have read on other posts similar comments about the length issue vs the GBB. I am a fairly straight driver of the ball,,hit 80%+ of the fairways but do fight a fade. Swing issue for sure, but 10-15 yds is very important to me.

F. Molinari led the tour in fairways hit percentage over the 2015 season at 78%. David Toms was next at 74%.

is this the general consensus? I have the M1 and just assumed it was a swing flaw.

Brilliant response. Do you think it might have something to do with the courses being played and the length of pros and margins of misses compared to amateurs?

I occasionally play with an older guy that literally hits every fairway but only drives it about 180-200 max.

Not sure. I'm a straight ball hitter and i was hitting the M1 at 6.5 loft. Taylormade guy repeatedly told me that the head was open and i was hitting straight shots with hint of fade. It looked very good. Didn't get any slices or hooks either

I did have a shot or two where i pulled it but that is my natural miss

so I have both. The GBB is more draw bias. With adjustments, it usually goes dead straight. The M1 is way more fade bias. So much in fact that I took my 10.5 and exchanged it for a 9.5. With Taylormade, as you raise the loft, the face becomes more closed. I needed a more closed face without more loft. The M1 is essentially a "TP" model, Once you get it set up, it is very predictable. It is probably longer than the GBB. Forgiveness is close.

Had the GBB and just wasn't a fan. I did not hit it well at all. I'm sure it's a fantastic drive for some but for me it wasn't. Take the m1 on the other hand and I take it out first round never hitting it. Hit every fairway and felt fantastic!!! I did dial it up a little on the back to get a little better launch but could not have been happier with the driver. It's all realities as I am sure there were guys who hated the m1 and the GBB. For me though it was m1 hands down!!

@lionstar and @mbbg-

No offense intended I assure you. I was reading the thread on a train and thought that 80%+ was mighty impressive, so I looked up tour stats.

Didn't really put any more thought into it with than that.

OK. Finally got to try the M1 . Only hit about 15 on the range and just hit 4 times on the course[ was in a money match]. I could not stop a fade no matter what I tried. Of course, a fade is my natural ball flight except with the GBB I am hitting straight or even a slight draw. Not with the M1. I was using the Fuji 52 gram shaft in regular so I will try another shaft next week. Despite the unavoidable fade, it is long. I would say 7-10 yds longer than the GBB when both are struck well. In other words, the M1 fade is a little longer than the GBB straight ball flight. If I can find a way to eliminate the fade I may pull the trigger. Feel and sound on the M1 not as good as the Bertha, but still good.

Try a lower lofted head and close the face.

I tried closing the face, setting the weight to draw, moving the other weight front to back,,everything. Different ball flights but still a fade. Mostly my swing I think.

I was thinking about this too, has anyone actually done it with success.

I was struggling with a bit of a fade with the M1. I bought the 460 head in 9.5° of loft. Selected one tick towards "higher" side resulting in 10.25° of loft, 2° closed face, and 56.5° lie. I have the front movable weight in the middle and the back one two ticks toward the rear. Now hitting it pretty much straight to a slight draw. Good distance and am more confident in finding the fairway. Couldn't be happier with the M1 now that I have it adjusted to my swing.

Since I have an M1 demo I will try your setup. I currently have a 10.5 with setting at 11.25. Maybe the higher lofted head is exaggerating the fade spin for me. I will exchange for a 9.5 head and give it a go. Thanks for the suggestion.

I had the GBB (sold it on eBay) with the Rogue Silver I/O installed and didn't get along with it at all. I am sure the GBB head is a great head, but the 10.5 and the I/O combo didn't do it for me. Not great dispersion and I hit a great many moon balls. I picked up a M1 and couldn't be happier. Awesome sound and control. I haven't gained 30 yards with the M1, but I am consistently longer with it. My swing speed runs from the mid 90's to around 100. When I am swinging well my tempo is medium and I try not to rush the release. The Kuro Kage Silver in the M1 is a great combo for me.

The M1 sound is great. I had the opposite results. The misses on the M1 for me were much farther left and right. DBD had much tighter dispersion. Using the rogue in the M1 and rogue i/o in gbb.

I don't get the whole fade bias on M1...I have mine set all the way on fade and draw it fairly easily, more so than my 915 D2 for sure.......

To me the M1 turns ball over quite easily....you comparing this to GBB or the ◇◇?

Actually think I am gna give cally a try, they have one in "my shaft" at local store....not crazy about stk offerings in M1.....or really the cally either, lol....but that orange shaft worked so good 4 me b4 and it's on a ◇◇ head for fair price....

But really these days your splitting hairs with clubs, get right shaft 4 you and dial in settings ( stk 4 me usually) and all of em are phenomenal......Avg it all out thru a bit of time and there prolly isn't 5 yds between em....

95-100 on monitors and 98-105 on course...

Ok,,I pulled the trigger today. Traded in my GBB [ for full credit from Edwin Watts Orlando] and got the M1. It was a no brainer. The M1 is the only TM driver I have purchased since the R7 Quad about 10 years ago. Sorry Callaway, I love my 2013 X Forged and really liked the GBB but the M1 is simply longer. 10-15 yds longer with good dispersion. I ended up with the White Tie shaft which performs much better for me than the Fuji Pro. To be fair, the GBB feels and sounds and to my eye even looks a little bit better, but 10-15 yds is too much to ignore.
