What's wrong with killing two birds with one stone? Haha

Phil is hilarious. I always have that sense he's about 25% BS but he always does the "classy thing" as well. (If we ignore the Ryder Cup)

"flew to vegas to break up in person"

BS, he just wanted an excuse to get to vegas to gamble.

I'm sure the reaction to you know who breaking up with you know who via you know what probably played into it as well. Honestly, I could care less if they talk in person, by phone or any other way, really none of my business.

Phil probably gets in a little sports action as well. I don't gamble, but I wouldn't bet on the Hawks this weekend though I feel good about them beating Indiana.

There are unwritten rules associated with being a professional 'anything'. Contrary to the prevaling Golfwrx wind, the professional and gentlemanly way to break any form of contract is, do it face to face. Never burn a bridge and always walk away leaving a friend.

Where will I find a directv customer service rep for this face to face I "must" have in a few weeks? Okay, extreme example, but it's a contract.

I get what you are trying to say but all kinds of contracts (large and small in all kinds of business relationships) get terminated other than in person, for all kinds of sound, professional and often legal reasons.

Yep, way extreme. I overlooked defining what a professional is in business and sports because I thought everyone knew. Sorry... Some common sense and experience must be applied. I am speaking as a licensed clincial professional that, like a licensed PGA professional athlete, allows me to take steps that others can not and expects me to behave a certain way to insure upholding the professional designation. Canceling your maintanence contract on your car is not what I was referring to, nor does that type of contract equate to being a professional. The subject was how PGA pro Phil handled canceling his long-term contract with his instructor.

Stating the obvious regarding all the unprofessional avenues of termination has no bearing on my perception, nor do they suggest such contract terminations were or are handled properly. Anyway have a good evening...

You make a good deal of sense. Some are just unable or unwilling to comprehend and utilize basic logic.

I assume a glass of properly aged whisky and a cuban cigar are in order before the final farewell handshake.

I don't know why some folks suggest you can be a touch pedantic, Pepper ?

Nice to see you posting again!

 This is Golfwrx... where people like to flaunt individual thinking, whether it is really who they are f2f or has pertinence. And of course, they like the option of not playing by rules. I am who I am, as Popeye says. :drinks:

Thank you!
