Yes Forged putters

Can anyone shed any light on these for me please. I was browsing ebay today and bought one on a whim for peanuts. Thought I'd take a chance even although I'm not really in the market for a putter. What is the opinion of these?

I'm more of a mallet type of guy when it comes to putting but I love the clean classic Anser style and basically just wanted one. Think I'll start a small back up putter collection to keep the Nome on its toes. Best I've ever putted has been with this Nome but the forged Yes Callie caught my eye at a moment of weakness!

Anyone who has actually used one or is still using one I'd be interested in hearing your views.

Can anyone tell me what the Yes Tour models are made of? Are they 303 stainless steel?

I bought a brand new Bella Tour a few weeks ago from Dallas Golf on Ebay and I love it. They are still selling these and other models and I plan to get a Rachel Tour next. Some are "buy it now" for $50 and others are being auctioned and can go for less.

What I find remarkable about them is how soft they feel. I don't know if it necessarily translates into more putts going in the hole but I find it very pleasurable in any case. I believe the super soft feel is attributable to the deep face grooves. I read that these grooves are deeper on the tour models than on the standard models but I haven't confirmed that.

Feel free to piggyback my thread!
Isn't the putter you're referring to, the Callie Forged, part of the Tour line?
The 'Tour Forged' and the 'Tour' are two completely different lines.

About your question of the stainless milled Tour model's grooves. I just compared my Tracy to my Tour Tracy and the grooves on the Tour are deeper, look to be around twice as deep.

I've been tempted to pick up a forged from Dallas golf, but I'm happy only roaring two putters. Both of which are the milled stainless 'Tour' putter

I have a carbon forged Tracy putter. Muted feel, poor feedback compared to the regular Tracy.

I also have a tour Tracy, milled, 303 stainless, vs. the 304 stainless regular Tracy. The tour tracy has the best overall feel.

Thanks for your feedback, appreciated. Your experience seems to be different to all online reviews I've read. Good to get different views and it makes me even more curious and excited to roll this putter when it arrives.

I've used this one all year. Made a few important putts, missed a few easy ones..... Good putter for those who like blades on the heavy side. Callie-f...

As usual, I'm late to the party however I feel strongly enough about this putter that I'll give ya my .01 worth.

Was playing in a Web.com Pro-Am in 2011, and I met my Player on the practice green. As one of his good friends was also one of mine, it set up for a nice afternoon. So he sees my Scotty SS Custom Newport, which was nothing special as it was a retail Scotty that I sent out and they took the head weight to 360gr and slapped my nickname on the toe that my college teammates referred to me by, and apparently his college buds hung the same nick name on him, and he asks if he can stroke a few.

I say sure and seeing that he has a YES putter in his hands I ask if I can try his(it's the one pictured though I'm giving away the story, lol). Well, he was running putts from all over the green and long story short, I did the same with his Abbey, the Tour Forged Abbie, which I believe you could get this exact putter retail though I've never seen it, and I believe that it retailed at $240-250.

Anyhoo, the stock HW is 360gr, however his was 365gr. Obviously I've added the pink fill, lol, though he liked my pink fill in my Scotty, especially in the nick name, lol.

He asked me what I wanted for it, I looked at the putter in my hands, then at him then I lifted it and said "This."

He replied "Done," and we laughed and shook on it-

Well, I've got 118 putters, 2 T's and the 8802 that I made my last run in '12 with but if ya said that I had to get rid of 117 em, THIS is the one that I keep.

It's the 1025 forged carbon and as I said the stock weight is 360gr, which was Paddy's preferred HW along with a few other Tour Boys strokin em when these were introduced, and it has the 2.5° loft, which I prefer over 3°.

These are beautiful putters and though I put another grip on it(Winn Br cancer grip with 6 wraps high), I saw the more recent YES releases and they were ugly as hell, and yea, what I'm looking down at matter to me cuz if I don't like it, it'll never see the practice green. The black looked cheap, not like the premium black putters, that yellow/black/white grip looked stupid as hell(though you can replace the grip) and they just didn't look like the putters from 2008-2011.

Maybe they rolled the same, don't know, but what I do know is that I'd give away my T's and not bat an eye before I'd even think about parting with this, and I've only got one eye presently, lol.

So, if ya can get any pristine models from 2008-2012, I'd jump on em if they have your preferred head design.

Oh yea, that C-Groove insert/technology?

Don't know much about it but what I do know is that this putter rolls like a Mother.......

Or maybe it's the Indian, LMAO

The Best to Ya Bro :)
NEVER!!!

That putter was in the bag for every Club(4), my Mid-Ams, most of my wins with Maddie(haha, and my choke job) along with the MP Championship-

It will never leave me and I've given away two 8802's that Sam gave me but the one pictured on the site will go in my casket with me-

I kid you not, lol

However, this baby is a nice putter to start the season with or to groove my stroke with

Who knows if when I get back I'll be able to ever putt with it again, cause let's face it, it is to a putter what a blade is to an iron and you better be firin on all cylinders if you're gonna stroke it, but hell, my best memories are with this baby, haha. My BD gift to myself on my 16th(1976), lol.

That was money well spent Bro :)

Stay Well My Friend

Always,
Richard

Big Stu,
RP will always have the 8802 around, either as starter or on stand-by, just in case, like we both will always have a Zing2. :)
