2015 model Pro V1 vs ProV1X

It has been several years since I played any Titleist golf balls. If you have played both the 2015 V1 and V1X , I have two questions.

1) does the V1 have a noticeably softer impact sound ?

2) did one or the other fly on a higher trajectory for your full shots ?

I would say the 2015's perform relative to each other about the same as any other generation. I wouldn't say the ProV1 has a [i]noticeably[/i] softer sound. But you can feel it's a little softer on some short game shots. I would say the ProV1x doesn't fly quite as high on full shots but that's speculation because I haven't compared them on Trackman. It's definitely not noticeable and I don't find that one travels a noticeable distance further than the other.

Here is what i do. If i'm playing VERY fast greens - i play prov 1

I'm i'm playing not fast greens Prov1x

I play prov1x about 80% of the time. IT is a little longer with driver

Pro V1 - yes, sounds and feels ever so slightly softer. Flies a little higher.

Pro V1x is a little longer than the Pro V1 for me on the driver (5-10 yards).

Tirleist posted a video on their Europe facebook page about their ball fitting process which could help, although they discuss the other balls in their range over comparing these specifically it might be worth a watch. Apparently about 7 yards difference between their cheapest ball to pro v1x

the 1x does spin less for me off irons. The 1 feels softer off the driver for me. Around the green, they are both remarkable. Carson's post above sums it up nicely in my opinion.

I think I read Titleist marketing claims that the Pro V1 has a bit softer sound and provides enhanced iron spin, and that the V1X offers a bit higher shot trajectory.
For the past several years I have been playing Srixon Z Star ball. I like its soft impact sound but would like to play a ball that gives me a higher trajectory ball flight. I am skeptical, though , that there is much height trajectory difference from one ball to the next. I will buy some Pro V1X's and see how they go.

I cant comment on the 2015 Pro V1 as I haven't tested it, but I can tell you the 2015 Pro V1x flies higher with the driver than the 2013 Pro V1x. It is also about 5-6 metres shorter than the 2013 model.
The 2015 model certainly doesn't go into the wind. I would say into a 15-20 km wind it is considerably shorter. By considerably I am talking 10 to 12 metres shorter. That is the weakness of the 2015 Pro V1x. I dont know what caused this, but thats just not my opinion. Others pro's I have spoken with about it have [u]all [/u]said the same thing. it could be the cover material thats the cause, I dont know, but those are the facts from a players point of view.
The 2015 Pro V1x will certainly give you a higher ball flight than the Srixon, just dont count on it in the wind.

Many have found stocks of the 2013 version and use that. It certainly is a very good ball. its about the same hardness as the Srixon XV, which by the way is an excellent ball also.
I agree with the other comments here about the softer feel and the spin.

I would be interested to hear what any players who regularly used the 2013 Pro V1 have found with the 2015 Pro V1.
