Recognize this Ball?

Found on a course in Austin, Texas. Anyone seen a ball like this before?

Well Now I am really curious. Why distance? It says 3 piece with dual cover. No idea what dual cover means - possibly a four piece ball?

Thanks to all for the information. I could not find anything on Google either - but with the Asia information I will try again. My thoughts were that it might be a tournament giveaway in the Big Ten country. The Big Ten logo that comes close to the orange "eyebrow" that looks like an "M" might be Minnesota? But that is quite a stretch.

Before I cut it in half - I am going to play a few holes with it to see what the performance might be and then we will divide it for an inside look.

I will post pictures of the inside after the postmortem.

Yes very good - sorry that went right over my head.

We have a pretty large Asian presence on the golf courses here in Austin with Samsung manufacturing plant located here. I have played with several gentlemen here to visit a relative - when they visit they stay for several weeks or months at a time and they do love to play golf. Very nice to play with, many are good players, speak little English and are extremely polite.

Just to finish off this topic.

Played a few holes with the ball and it was a nice playing ball. Good distance and average spin on the wedges. Sort of like a nxt, Velocity or maybe an e6 type of ball. So as requested - I cut that puppy in half. Picture below. I am certainly not a ball expert but it looks like a 3 piece ball to me. Still have no idea what the "dual cover" is suppose to mean.

Dual cover or double cover used to denote a ball that had a thin mantle layer versus the standard 2 piece distance type balls. It was designed to enhance spin around the greens and create a straighter ball flight. You could use a firmer surlyn cover and still get a little bite out of it.

Thanks, I had guessed that it was just a marketing description. This ball has turned out to be relative non-interesting. Maybe next time. I have found a "rule35" ball from Callaway (circa 2000 I think) and a "Tour Balata - 100" (has to be from the 90's) recently on this same course. Must be people that play once or twice a decade? Believe it or not the Balata ball was pristine - no "smiles" or marks of any kind. Had to have lost it on the first stroke.
