Best place for discount Scottsdale rates

We are in Scottsdale for a week at a conference in January starting the 22nd.

 

I've tried Golfnow.com but the rates seem high. Am I too far out? Do the rates drop as you get closer to the dates you want?

 

Are there any other sites with good rates?

There really aren't any budget courses in Scottsdale worth playing, for that you need to expand to the greater Phoenix area and the 3 best muni courses - Maryvale, Papago, and Aguila. Even those will likely be $75 to $100 for nonresidents in January.

I will tell you this there are only 2-3 tracks in town worth full rack rate

Very, very close, but I would take Pinnacle. Also very different choices - Pinnacle is a better designed course overall, definitely gives you desert golf, but plenty of houses (even though these are really nice houses), some views, very much the high end resort experience. Cholla has a couple of poor holes (2 and 8), but still a great course, much more desert, no houses, more views, beautiful but more laid back clubhouse, and probably less expensive for a course nearly as good as Pinnacle, and, frankly, probably a more memorable experience.

Pinnacle over Cholla with ease. If I had 100 rounds to play at those two it would be 95/5 Pinnacle. If it were Monument then it would be 50/50.

I must be missing something. This is what the website says and I called to confirm. Nothing near $60 for a non-resident - even if you walk.

That's what I thought...but the OP seems to not believe us, was lied to by TPC or it has now been changed to resident only. I played 1/1/16 at that rate...so don't know what more I can say.
