HeadGear Golf - something old/something new

I recently commissioned Greg at HeadGear Golf to create a few custom head covers out of my Grandfather's vintage leather jacket. The jacket had been given to me after his passing, and I wore it for a few years, but unfortunately my portly paunch had sent the coat to the closet. Inspired by LoPan's custom covers I decided to repurpose the leather. The original intent was to build the covers myself but I didn't know where to start. I had recently purchased a few hybrid covers from Greg, and was impressed by the quality of the products, so I reached out to him with a few ideas. He provided detailed instructions so that I could rip the seams of the jacket without damaging the leather. I pulled each panel apart and sent the pieces to Greg. He took over from there.

 

The entire process was enjoyable. Feedback was timely, cost was more than reasonable, turnaround time was astounding (a week once the leather was in-hand), and I was apprised of the process throughout. Greg was even kind enough to spend time on the phone with me during the holiday rush. I'm beyond satisfied with the finished products.

 

A fitting tribute to my Grandfather; a man who didn't like to waste a thing.

Judging by your avatar and sig you are carrying a winner as well. Those Mizzies are beautiful. The Mac's are my first foray into the world of blades. I've been more than pleasantly surprised by their performance.

 

Like the head covers I plan on hanging on to them.

Thank you to all of you for the compliments. Gibbie is correct, these won't make their way to the BST.

 

The covers travelled indoors for a simulated session and they performed admirably. My ball-striking was suspect at times, but my fairways and hybrids were kept safe and cozy.

 

I will add two more hybrids to the mix once I can figure out a few designs to compliment these.

Thank you! I actually sold the 32s in the picture (the MP-4s I still have), but only because the shaft didn't really fit me. I'm currently looking for another classic iron set, and it might be Mizzies again. I would really like a classic set of Macs (VIPs and so on), or Wilson Staff blades, but they're not easy to find secondhand in Japan (and I'm a bit leery of using auction sites).
