In narrowing down my search I think these two are my top choices for jdm. I'm a 17 capper playing hogan apex edge the last year. I've hit most of the usdm new irons so what do these match up against? Iron play is decent get in trouble off the tee more than anywhere else. Also really like the metal factory irons but I believe they are way above me. Any and all help is appreciated.

I play AF503 after recently switching from Mizuno JPX forged 825 Pro.

703 is more forgiving than 503, and I think 703 is classified more in the SGI irons where 503 is GI irons.

I also noticed 703 has a wider sole.

A 17 with better than average iron play than peers with the same cap would probably be better off in the 503

I would recommend 503; 703 are really big. My friend has the 503 and they are very nice. Playable and offers good forgiveness.

I play off 9 and have gamed the 593s for a couple years. My iron play is prob the weakest part of my game though and I'm thinking of switching to the 703s. I play with 3 guys who are 1-5 chaps and my short game is better than 2 of the guys in my regular group if that gives you any indication. I've been bagging Romario alpha w roddio i9s of late and shooting in the 70s by hitting more greens....while the 503s will surely work well it really depends on what you prioritize. Why not get both?

703 is easy, super duper easy. by far the longest irons i've hit, but this may be due to loft. At your hcp, it would help lots

I switched from the 302 to the 703 ,

first there are not that big ( except the pw an aw )

and yes SGI , perfect !

I lost the amazing feel of the 302 but for the best , enjoyable game

As an earlier poster mentioned, if your iron game is decent then go the 503 !

I had a set that I gamed for a few months and for a 17 looking to improve and evolve his game they would be the perfect iron to go with out of the 2 !

I also here great things about the onoff Kuros .

In saying all of that , it is essential that you go and get yourself custom fit by a certified specialist !

If you're going to drop the sort of coin that top shelf JDM bats command then you ought to make sure you dot your i's and cross your t's by doing it properly !

I've held one but haven't hit one .

I must admit that I preferred the look from address of the 57 .

Am still gaming my 57s but I did however get to to hit the 302 with a C-Taper Lite and loved it .

I love my Miuras but it's the first time I've hit them with a shaft that appeals to and damn !

I'm not the best ball striker in the world but I came from a SGI set of Adams before switching to the 503's. The 503's still offer plenty of forgiveness compared to other GI sets I've tried while still being so buttery soft when hit pure. Unless you're set on looking for a SGI set, I'd suggest going with the 503's instead of the 703's.

Big fan of the 303. To me, the 303 has the same forgiveness as 503 with better feel and looks. Just sold my 503. I don't like irons with undercut cavity. There are plenty of forgiving irons without the undercut cavity.
