Got it to work as long as the shaft price is less than the actual driver.

 

XR Driver with Diamana Ilima shaft ($250) and got a FREE AD DI shaft...I'll take it. I admit you can probably find the XR a bit cheaper on ebay but two premium shafts plus the head for $250 doesn't sound TOO bad.

IMO, with the markup on the drivers and comparing their prices to BST and eBay, you're basically getting a driver for $150 and a second shaft for a $100 or so with the deal, assuming you get a higher end item. I think it's a great deal if you can use both shafts or sell one. Was thinking about trying a 815 DBD, but I didn't do it was because I already have too many extra drivers and shafts (GolfWRX problems).

The DBD is a beast. I'm not saying to go carelessly purchasing clubs. But, I can say that this is the first time in almost a decade that I don't feel the need to buy a driver. To me, it reminds me of the FT Tour I used to love. I got rid of that due to quality control issues with the composite. If you were to try out the 815 DBD, there is a good chance you won't be disappointed.

Agree, not that great of a deal after doing some shopping on it yesterday, they jacked the prices. You could get a DBD with an addi for $200 or so before Christmas.

Price of Shaft cannot exceed price of Driver. So you need to spend $280 to get a ADDI. The heads vary on price on ebay. Too me its not worth buy the head and a shaft 280+ to get another shaft.

Like new XR drivers are $93 on Amazon through CPO, so it ends up being about a wash. If you like both shafts your getting then it works out good.

How can you see what shaft is in the driver?

 

I rolled the dice, but it is the most common one. I selected a 9* stiff "like new" $136.99. CPO also sends a notice about fulfilling the order, the shaft was noted in that e-mail.

 

This was in the e-mail from CPO:

I will confess that I came back this morning and priced another driver on CPO and added it to my cart, but then they sold out of the DI-7. Deal broken.

Picked up an 815 with a 565 like new, and picked up an Oban Kiyoshi Gold. Works for since I was going to buy the Oban anyway. Try out the 815, and probably craigslist it for 170-190 locally. Just $80 for it wold make me even with buying the Oban itself...

Of course, the other wrinkle is that I need to sell the Oban that arrived just a couple days before I saw this... But I got it for a good price, and should be able to easily break even on it...

My DI was $213 and my order total was $219. It was an optifit duel cog. I did however see a DI for the $279 but it had the older single cog.

Not sure if this is what he was talking about, but (hopefully) here is a link to Amazon's listing from CGPO for a used good condition DBD. Listed at $112, and Like New ones are $136. If it doesn't work, just check Amazon and look at the used options.
