Dolphins vs Rams - WAGs and Close Relatives Special. Why is the NFL making the Dolphins fly all the way to California for a game with a sub-20 over/under? Okay, the O/U is actually 40, but the under is a no-brainer. Horrible ratio of frequent flyer miles:points scored. The Rams are averaging 9.67 pts in their last three games and are starting their rookie QB. There will be a lot of empty seats in the LA Coliseum to see the Dolphins slog out an unimpressive 20-13 win over the Rams.

 

Patriots vs 49ers - Tom Brady threw ZERO... 0... Nada... Zilch... TD passes last Sunday vs the Seahawks. Not happening this week. NE lights it up vs SF and their social justice warrior QB (Except that he's never registered to vote! Whoops!). Not even garbage time can make this game appear like it was a contest. NE 38 SF 17

 

Eagles vs Seahawks - Green vs green. Bird vs bird. My game of the week, and ... yes, my Upset Special! The schizophrenic Iggles can win big games - 5-0 Minnesota Vikings, No problem... 6-2 Atlanta Falcons, No problem... They just haven't been able to win games in their own division. The 'hawks come off an emotional win vs the Patriots, and I think they have a bit of a let down. A lot of weapons on offense and a stout defense get Philly a rare 'Visitors' win at Century Link Field. Caleb Sturgis rides the Harley off into the sunset with the game winner 27-26.

 

A little better with the late games...Rams are stuck on 10 points. Goff 17/31 for 134 yds ... Case Keenum would have gone 18/31 with 142 yds..., but I'm biased. Dolphins managed to pull one out, and move to 6-4, legitimately in the playoff discussion and a favorable matchup next week.

 

Pretty close prediction with NE-SF. Brady taking a knee on the 3 yd line to end the game... after throwing 4 TDs. LaGarrette Blount gives NE a time-eating running game to seal victories in the 4th quarter. The list of "complete" teams - balanced offense, solid defense, good special teams - is really, really short, and NE is on it.

 

I blew it calling for the upset in the Philly-Seattle game. This is not the same Seahawk team that tied the Cards 6-6 and lost to the Rams 9-3. Wilson is getting healthier and the 'hawks are getting tougher. Rawls' return seemed to give them a spark. I thought the Eagles played well, but were just out-matched. Losing Mathews and Sproles didn't help. The Eagles drop a lot of passes. Seattle pretty much sealing the deal in the NFC West. Eagles drop to .500, are on the outside looking in of the playoff window, and have a real interest in the Packers for two games.

The name of the team is the Washington Redskins, named for the city they represent.....Wash D.C.

The team's official headquarters and practice fields are located in Ashburn, Virginia. Ashburn,Va. is a western suburb of DC out by Dulles Airport in the state of Virginia.

The Redskins stadium is FedEx Field and it is in Landover, Maryland. Landover is a eastern suburb of DC in the state of Maryland.

I know it was built by the late great Jack Kent Cooke and was named Jack Kent Cooke Stadium when it opened in Sept.1997.

 

When the Skins were sold (team and stadium) to the current horrible owner Snyder, he sold the naming rights to FedEx for 7.5 mil a year. Snyder and his cronies bought the team/stadium in May of 1999 for 800 million.

I am not a Redskins fan, but I will say, in a dispassionate way, that they look like a solid team. I know the NFL can be week to week, but the Redskins' offense has been improving - now 2nd in total offense. Rob Kelley has been productive since taking over the #1 spot in the back field. Even before then, the Redskins' running game was getting better - 1st 5 games: 86.4 yds/gm, last 5 games: 147.8 yds/gm. Yes, the NFL has become a passing league, but running the ball effectively makes a difference, at least for 31 teams.

Jamison Crowder has emerged as a legitimate threat at WR. 100+ receiving yds in 3 of the last 4 games and 6 TDs on the year... then add his ability to return kicks.

 

On Thanksgiving, could they.... hmmm...

Washington offense against Dallas defense scares me a bit.

 

I think they'll struggle running the ball, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kirk has a nice day against the Dallas D.

 

Dallas will probably have to put up 30+ again to win, IMO. Expecting a Pittsburgh-ish type game.

Oh well there are a couple of members that stop by for a read and post a comment on a somewhat frequent basis.

 

Ok well it is Thanksgiving in the grand US of A in two days. We will be thankful for three games on our treasured holiday.

Canada doesn't get 3 hockey games on July 1rst do they! Well it is July first so maybe that's why.

Luck getting a concussion was quite a bad break for the Colts with a short week and the Steelers coming to town.

 

I hope nobody above the Rio Grande gets the bright idea of using laser pointers during games. That could be a serious problem. --- sorry, just realized my pun.---

 

Matchups that will affect the playoffs:

Not sure what the Bungles will do if the team limps in the rest of the way. 12-4 last year. Don't follow them that closely to say why the turn for the worst. Losing a couple 2nd tier receivers won't cause a reversal of fortune.
