I'm in love with mine btw. Starting to think of a strategy to remove the finish once it gets too worn. Maybe sandblast.

I hate the finish is so poor on these but I picked one up in Golfsmith just messing around and it felt great. I had no clue they shipped with longer shafts as standard. I am a green dot i20 user with that extra 1/2" and the VFP felt great. Totally surprised me. I have been "wanting" CF16 or PING iE. I haven't hit a Nike set since the original pro combos. These really surprised me.

Just got back from a quick "13" at the club (played back 9 then drove back over to 10 and 11 and then back over to 8 and 9). Still loving the VFP irons. I don't have alot of range time on these as we lost our range this year due to new ownership and the range being developed into high-end condo's. Still, the finish is holding up exceptionally well after 15 or so rounds and they basically look like a 9.5 out of 10 on condition. They are such a pleasure to hit and you can definitely work the ball with these. High, low, left, right--you name it and the can do it. Now, I just need to see the rumored orange accent color that NIKE is coming out with for 2017 and work on using some acetone to remove the photo blue for the shoebox orange :)

 

The way their Colors developed they will probably add an "electric orange" to their clubs. So they will than be, blue/lime/orange and it will finally look like a childs toy... -.-

 

So sad they are messing up their clubs with the colors... Only volt was fine, but volt and blue was already too much

Would the 4/5 iron be good as a driving iron kinda club? I love the shape of these. All the driving Irons are too chunky

I'm tempted to buy new clubs and because these clubs are heavily discounted I figured why not. Is this club worth getting for a high handicap?

Good club to grow into but not the most forgiving out there. More in line with your ping i series type of club. A in between super game improvement and players club for me.

I wish they'd design a set with the size of the pro combo (and not black) but with the nice rounded lines and shape of the vapor fly pro

I asked this question and went around it, through it, hit both 7 irons into a screen for an hour, asked all kinds of gurus here about em.

 

I have the VPC's waiting to go for next year. The VFP was softer feeing than I expected for a cast club, though the tape could have contributed to that. I hit the VFP a full club longer, which was to be expected honestly with loft differences. I was a bit more consistent with the VPC, which I also expected.

 

I've been playing forged for years, so got a great deal at the time and spent $550 for brand new VPC's 4-P. I'm still keeping my eye out for a cheap and nice set of VFP's just because (maybe for kids in 15 years, rock the Nike bag like their parents and surprise everyone with a swoosh on a club).

 

But it seriously depends on the golfer. VPC's will be better feeling and more consistent. The VFP's will be more forgiving and longer. Both feel great respectively for their classification.

With that said, I'm going to have the VPC's lengthened a half inch (if not more) to match up the length of the VFP's (I'm 6'4") and play irons bent upright 2 degrees.

 

The VFP has lofts covering a greater degree than the VPC's. Be sure to look that part up and see how it'll fit your gapping. Also, the VFP's are a full half inch longer than the VPC's.

Thank you! $550 for a set of new VPCs is a great price. So far I've seen those are more expensive than the VFPs and even the Vapor Pros. Definitely going to try out my buddies VPCs this week when we go to the course since he uses everything standard like I do. Just need to go find a set of VFPs so I can try it out here. Roger Dunn might be my only shot since my local store got rid of all their Nike stuff.

I tend to be a brand whore, but who isn't here on golfwrx?! Nike and Mizuno is where it's at for me. Next spring will be my first all Nike set. But from what I'm hearing from the JPX 900 driver reviews, Mizuno may have finally nailed the perfect driver/wood line and I've gamed Mizuno irons for the last 12 years. So my Nike bag may not be a Nike bag for long, it's hard to resist trading up for JPX 900 forged irons/woods/wedges/MP putter. Lol

 

But good luck with the iron search! The VPC's are still pricey right now. I tried the Vapor pros.. hit 7 and 4 iron pro vs my pro combo (not spec up, just standard everything). The 7 iron was nice but I really struggled with the longer 4 iron. And I consider myself a good ball striker.

I don't see why not, the finish is supposed to wear with normal use. Taping things offf in the back could be difficult.
