sad for Speith.. losing is one thing...how you lose is another. Don't like how he lost.. it's the same with Norman..few seem to care that he won two majors.. had the lead in each major going into sunday at some point in his career..they remember Faldo ruthlessly taking advantage of his dumbness...it's all Norman is really known for

Spieth played better than every one else there, except for one hole. Willett played a terrific final round and did not have "one hole" like Spieth did. That's a tough question. The "woulda coulda" easily says Jordan wins with a sloppy over-the-green-sand-out-2-putt bogey on 12 instead of the quad. The world will never know though, because Willett didn't falter and made the shots that counted.

A bag of left-handed junk.

No, Danny won it.

Some will say that Jordan lost it (and it WAS a shocker on 12), but Danny won it with a 67. You can't discount a 67 on Sunday.

Danny didn't win it, Jordan lost it.

I have never agreed with that idea. It's a 72 hole tournament total score. If Spieth quads the 12th in the first round it's a valiant attempt at a comeback and in the fourth round it's a choke. What is the difference between 65 65 73 73 and 73 73 65 65?

Correct. Lets be very clear here, Spieth gave this masters to Willet. Most people didn't even know Willet was in the event until 14 on sunday and he clearly felt no heat or pressure of any kind until at least 14. 5 shot lead on 10th tee Spieth gift wrapped this event and gave it to Willet. Willet just happened to be the one guy who started at even par who happened to have a low key no pressure 67 in him on sunday. The rest of them couldn't even break 71. You know, the "young guns", the unbeatable ones with all the commercials about them and magazine covers....rory, day, DJ, Matsuyama, smylie and for good measure fowler barely broke 80 and missed the cut.

I would hardly say it was a "no pressure 67." Have you shot 67? Let alone in a tournament? Let alone in the Masters? Even in weekend fun matches with the boys every shot that goes into a 67 has pressure. At least in my case!

Willet hung around the top 25 the entire tournament in wind conditions that were treacherous. All Speith has to do was par out and he would win. I agree it was ~kind of~ handed to Willet but do not discredit the lad's 67 on a tough Masters Sunday.

Sounds easy doesn't it? I mean there were 9 players that were even or better for the tournament and guys had crashed and burned on the back all week but all he had to do was par out. At Augusta, where just about every hole can be doubled , or worse, if you miss your spot by 20 feet.

Both.

Whilst I agree Danny for the most part got to go out and play his game he played the last 3 holes in 1 under as front runner. Great approach and put on 16. Great up and down on 17 and nailed drive on 18 after having to reset due to patrons moving about right in his eye line.

Agree, Willet shot a great 67 on a day where you know a collapse is possible and no one else in contention could put together a great round. Sure of course there is normal pressure for everyone in the masters, we all know that but relatively speaking Willet was not under anywhere near the pressure that others on the leaderboard were. He flew entirely under the radar until at least the 14th hole and then did keep it together for 4 holes and close it out. So sure, great round and due to the epic Spieth collapse he won otherwise it would've been a nice paycheck and when we speak of Masters sunday pressure he was way, way under the radar compared to others especially spieth until 14 or 15.

Peoples' ignorance is willet's fault? Sorry but a "low key NO PRESSURE" round on Sunday at the masters doesn't exist. Unless he's the greatest golfer that ever lived. Seriously all the arm chair critics here probably couldn't come within 10 yards of the picker at their local mat driving range with a wedge.

A little of both, but I do not feel that Danny was "given" the tournament. He hung in there & took advantage of others' mistakes. It's golf, stuff happens, even to the top players, just when they least expect it. Jordan will get over this as soon as he wins another major....it could be the US Open, the Open, or the PGA, or all of them. He's 22....he's got plenty of time to forget the 2016 Masters. He has to be mature enough to let himself get over it. It's just golf, it's not life or death. If he can't deal with it, then he's not as mature as people think he is.

I'm glad for Willett, but Jordan lost this tournament. That's tough to handle. I don't care how many majors he may or may not go on to win, this one will always sting. I've been that guy (clearly not in the Masters) and he will replay #12, in some ways, for the rest of his life. I don't care if he wins 5 more green jackets - in his mind, it should have been 6 more.

I saw an interview with Willet on the golf channel tonight with Todd Lewis. Willet told Lewis that it was Spieth's tournament to lose or give away and he said Jordan gave it to him. He said he had a good round putting himself in position if there were a collapse but he reiterated that there was "a bit of a give from Jordan".

Spieth was very lucky to be leading going to the 10th, if it wasnt for his putter he wouldnt have even been contending, no way was he going to par in from the 10th the way he was hitting it tee to green, its a 72 hole tournament, not 63!

Also danny won by 3! if spieth had only bogeyed the 12th, instead of a quad, it would of only been a playoff at best for spieth
