KBS Tour vs Nippon Modus 120

I had the Modus 120x for a few weeks 4 years ago.  I think they play a little softer overall than the 130 KBS BUT they are stiffer in the tip section.  I could play them but it would have taken some getting used to.  I launched and spun them about the same as the 130 but the kbs went a few yards further and my strike was more consistent with the kbs.  If I wanted to try the 120 again I would probably go tx.  I'd also guess that the $ taper or tour S+ would be a better comparison overall to the modus 120x.

In my experience KBS Tour flight typically launch higher than Modus 120 - AND SHOULD:  Delivery is always king but KBS Tour have a soft tip and Modus have a stiff tip.

 

BUT - even though they are different, I find that the audience for KBS Tour and Modus 120 are a similar group of players.  Much closer than a DG player moving to ProjectX traditional.

It came down to those 2 shafts initially numbers were great with KBs but as I hit more balls it became apparent that the modus 120 maintained 6100 spin and 19 descent angles on Mishits which we all do lol

the KBs had a definite kick and felt head heavy while the modus was smooth and I did not have to work anywhere as hard 

 

 

KBS are head-light and actually swingweight 1.5 swing weights lighter due to the softer tip. Modus are a very tip heavy shaft due to the reinforced tip wall.
