Yea or Nay

The last hole to fill in reconstituting my stolen bag was to replace my 20* Nickent 3DX hybrid shafted with a stiff iRod. I really liked that club. Probably used it more as a dirving iron than a utility from the fairway, but would definitely go to it for clear 200 yard shots from the fairway, and chipped with it as well. It hit the ball mid trajectory and straight -- misses were definitely left, however (which is saying something as I play a fade)

Anyway, purely on impulse I bought a 20* Sonartec MD the other day - I haven't even taken the plastic off the head yet and before I put it in play need some feedback on whether this is going to be too hard of me to hit coming from the Nickent? What grabbed me was the look of the head (compact and businesslike) and that the iRod was the stock shaft. But reviews around here suggets that the MD ain't much easier to hit than the 3 iron it replaces . . .

Given that I paid retail (a rarity for me) and that I did not demo, want to make sure I'm not barking up possibly the wrong tree. Seems tha tfolks beleive that the Adams Pro is much easier to hit.

I prefer my utility woods to have a more iron lick feel than fairway wood, but I am not looking to be firing off lasers 15 feet off the deck . . .

I have it and love it. The irod is one of the best parts of the club, and it is much easier to use than a 3 iron. Great off the tee, out of the rough, and off the firway.

I have two MDs (19 and 21) and the only thing I didn't like was the shaft. Had my 21 reshafted with an Accra 70i and it is a fantastic club. Great trajectory still but just feels way more consistent and in particular not losing it right any more (I'm left handed). Got to get the 19 degree done now - and perhaps reduce the loft a degree or more and I'll be happy
