I tried to watch Tin Cup like 10-15 years ago. Gave it about 25 minutes and it was awful. Fast forwarded to the big final round scene, even that was unwatchable. Never saw how that movie did any business whatsoever, much less be talked about this many years later.

I actually liked most of the golf movies I've seen, Tin Cup included. Obviously they're going to have horrible swings because they're probably not golfers, even if they are, they're probably not WRX good.

 

If we're talking ugly swings, I'm going on a whim to say Shia LaBouf had the worst one, haha. Good movie though, even though it's a Disney flick.

Yeah that was a good movie . I liked the references to Vardon and how he met him as a kid and then went on to beat him as an amateur and a late entry to the U.S. Open that year in New York.

I think my fav golf movies are Happy Gilmore , Tin Cup, caddy shack. Happy gilmore by far is the funniest Cuz it really shows a normal person and how Goofy golf looks from an outsider and also how much of a ****** certain snobby golfers can be. "Im not a golfer im a hockey player!" Haha

I'm the opposite. When I first watched Tin Cup I didn't like the ending at all. But after watching it a couple dozen times, I think it's great now.

You want a very underrated golf movie, try to find "Dead Solid Perfect".

 

Plus there's a great scene of getting ice from the hotel ice machine... yeah, sounds boring ;-)

Not that I'm a Kevin Costner defender, but my understanding is he was a decent athlete when he was younger (baseball?).

 

I agree though that he doesn't have the most aesthetically pleasing swing in that movie.
