Ping G2 inserts - removal/aftermarket???

Hi just wondering if anyone has ever removed or replaced a Ping G2 insert? If so how easy was it and how was it attached to the club.

Having gone back to an old Craz_e H model I have fallen in love with the way it looks and feels however it's a wee bit tired on the face after 10+ years and I fancy restoring/upgrading it. I've made a few enquiries re getting a new insert made. If I did do this I'd also replace the blue on the rear of the putter too. Possibly going black carbon or something.

Any ideas or experience's on this knowledgeable forum?

Spryevo have come back to me offering either carbon fibre, which will keep the weight and feel similar. Aluminium which will add roughly 10-30g of weight or copper which adds 30-60g (from memory) to the weight of the club.

I have a couple of options here in the UK and Chris Finch Golf who I've used previously and I know does an outstanding job is comfortable doing the work for me.

I'll update once I get the putter back from him.

I'm going to go for a new milled aluminium insert. Not sure whether to go further and get the putter refinished in black polymer and custom paint. The Craz_e H is a model I love so don't mind spending money on it. Decisions....

Thoughts??
