Sean Toulon is assuming the role of SVP for Callaway and "General Manager" of the Odyssey Brand. It looks like an aqui-hire to me. They wanted Sean and had to buy the company to get him.

I am in the U.K. and just got my latest issue of golf monthly and it has details and pictures of the new Bertha. It's called Big Bertha Fusion, no sliding weight and is triangular in shape. New composite crown 35% thinner , MOI increased by 17% over XR16. With 2 shaft length option 44.5 & 45.5. Out Septmber 30.

I can verify the Bertha fusion. Saw the cally rep at a local golf store with the driver and fwys. the crown is made with zub zero technology (triax??) and will be offered in two different lengths 44.5 and 45.5. he wouldnt let me take pics but said theyll be out 9/30

This does not replace GBB. There will be a new one in the spring. The fusion is the v series replacement

There is another golf site that posted pictures and a bunch of info earlier today.

 

Triangular shaped.

 

One option touted as distance oriented with a 45.5 inch shaft.

 

The second option as accuracy oriented with a 44.5 inch shaft. I can't remember what all else it said, but it was interesting.

 

UST Recoil Driver shaft(Never heard of this before) and a Diamana Red Option.

The Fusion is nice. The head is no bigger than a i25 head just triangle shape. So not too mammoth in my opinion.

 

Graphics are clean and nice. The Recoil shaft was a pleasant surprise. I didn't find it soft like most made for shafts and the head respond nicely.

 

 

The woods were about the same and easy to hit.

 

However, the real winner is the steelhead hybrids..wow! Bam! Pow! SoBs are very long and just want to go straight.

 

Imagine the OG RBZ but better design. Crazy long.

I had a chance to talk to the local Callaway rep. today and he had all the new product. It all looks good. The Big Bertha Fusion is more on the lines of the V-series driver and fairways. Plus there will be a GBB 17 model that will replace the current GBB. He didn't say when the release was. I am guessing around PGA show time. Plus a few other things I am not able to mention. Think hard and you can probably figure it out.
