Yellow golf balls

Does anyone else find yellow balls Harder to spot in the fairway than white.

White is so much easier for me to see in the fairway, rough, and in the air.

I'm just the opposite. Yellow is so much easier for me to see. Plus, I know which ball is mine on the green.

I've read studies have shown yellow to be 3 times easier to see at a distance. I think I'm going to get some for certain holes I play where errant shots can go into an area filled with mostly white balls. At least then I'd have more chance to find it and possibly chip back into the fairway.

A buddy of mine played with an optic yellow ball last weekend and I was impress with how easy it was to spot not only on the fairway, but also in the air against a cloudy ski. My only concern was if he had any issues putting with a yellow ball.

I prefer yellow balls, but I play both. If you have trouble seeing a yellow ball then you may have issues seeing some colors. I can spot a yellow ball a mile away.

One of the guys I play with plays exclusively yellow balls. While I do agree they are easier to spot in fairways most of the time, we have the hardest time spotting them in rough and near hazards when it's fall. The yellow blends in with the leaves that have fallen more so than I thought it would.

I started playing optic yellow right when I learned, and now I find white balls weird to look down at.

I don't like yellow balls, for some reason in the air i find they always look like they are going to land shorter than they are. Maybe it's because i do see them clearer so it looks closer than it is i don't know. But i always think my iron shots with yellow balls are landing short

depends on the yellow, some of brighter or maybe what people are calling optic yellow stand out more than white. but i've seen some duller yellow balls that are harder to spot in deep green grass or amongst leaves in the fall. so i'd say it depends on what yellow is used.

In some conditions, sun angles, cloud cover, sky color, yellow is harder to see but most of the time, yellow is easier to see.

 

Always cracks me up when I'm playing with people and they go to my yellow ball and thinks it's theirs and then realize their ball is white. How do you forget that?

I love yellow balls and will stick with them. Although, in some cases, I do believe white balls from the same brand, feel better.

Has anybody played the NXT Tour/ Tour S in yellow? To me they look like they are made of cheap plastic and feel harder.

Love yellow balls. A lot easier for me to see. Buddy tried a SS in orange last weekend, even easier to see.

Just picked up some Q-Stars. That yellow is bright vs. the Z-Stars.

Yellow is incredibly visible at a distance in fairway, and even rough, when the conditions are dry and everything is green. I don't find white to be hard to spot, but from a distance it doesn't stand out as much. However, when there is a lot of dew or moisture, the glare from the sun makes it hard to see both colors. I had a buddy use a purple ball once and that was impossible to see. But orange actually stands out well in all conditions, in my experiences. Not that I've played one, but I have a buddy I play with who uses the yellow/orange/purple balls.

Yes, several rounds. I find they look very much like the Srixon Z star yellows. It's kind of a translucent yellow. I find these balls are the worst for ballflight tracking. I always think they will land 20yds shorter then they do LOL

 

The Callaway yellows are a harder yellow i find, a more solid one

 

I don't notice any different in feel with white balls

I play both but when eveyone in my group plays white my yellow is easy see the longest in the fairway :-)

On a cloudy/overcast day it is impossible for me to track a white ball. I have no issues on these days when using my NXT Tour S yellow balls. Easier to spot in the rough and the occasional hazard. Never gets mixed up with other playing partners and I have zero issues when putting. Even after a couple buddies mentioned that it's weird putting with a different colored ball....still no mental block. It's just a golf ball. I switched over about 5 years ago as my vision started getting worse and I began having trouble tracking the ball in the air. Definitely not as spinny as a premium ball but it does go far off the tee and holds greens well enough to stay in the bag.

Yellow are easier to see, plus generally it would be tough to hit the wrong ball. Last Sat. 1st time using Chrome Soft , 1st 2 par 4's, 8 swings, 3rd hole par 3, 1 swing, in the hole, I'm sold!!

Since you're a WRX'er, your ball should always be closest to the hole!

My buddy found a Volvik Vivid matte red ball. It's so bright you cannot see the dimples. I cannot believe someone lost it. I've never seen anything like it.

I use a yellow ball during the spring and summer months because is much easier to spot/find it, however, I do switch to a white ball in the fall because it is easier to find it when the leaves are on the ground.

The fairway is never an issue for me, but I find the yellow balls harder to spot in the rough. White just contrasts better for me.

I got on the yellow bandwagon early. Now i cant wait until i lose all my yellow E6 and Q stars!

I Play in the bright sun and swear they are the hardest to find in the rough. i'm circling looking for my ball while people in my group are playing on. And thats when i saw where the ball went and what vacinity!

I think they will be great for overcast days. But i play in the afternoon, and they just seem harder to find.

 

Only perk is im usually the only one playing them, and its easy for somebody else to spot them sometimes.

Here in Los Angeles, the white is easily lost in the gray haze layer. Yellow is easier to see against the gray for sure. In the rough, the yellow and white are the same maybe the yellow is a tad easier for me to find with my PRIZM lenses. However, when there are lots of leaves and autumn come along, the yellow is at disadvantage but I rather not lose the ball in the sky by playing yellow and compromise finding the ball in the rough in autumn/leaves. My 2c as I remain a Yellow e6 player,

 

Side note, I think the Srixon XV yellow is easier to find than the Bridgestone Optic Yellow e6, imho.
