What are you listening to?

Alright, I'm looking for some more techno at the moment and decided to ask the guys on here what they listen to. I'm sort of into heavier techno that is sort of similar to heavy metal in some ways. I'm currently listening to Infected Mushroom, but I have a tonne of Gatecrasher albums, Wild albums, Cafe del Mar, Benny Benassi, alot of '90s techno like Sandstorm and Safri Duo, and newer stuff by Fedde le Grand and TV Rock from a few 2007 Ministry of Sound albums. Hope I can get some help here.

I listen to a lot of electronic music. It seems as though the guys from the US have been late "developers"

in the sense that they didn't start listen to techno, house, electro and stuff like that before late 90's and early 2000. But now jingle's from PGA tour trasmissions starts to use more and more electronic music and I like that instead of the old bombastic music they used to use as jingles.

 

My favorite electronic artists are: Armin van Buuren, Mauro Picotto, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Ian Van Dahl, Blank & Jones, Markus Schulz, Scooter, Robert Miles, York, DJ Tiesto, Armand Van Helden and Trentemøller.

 

I also like to buy the CD compilations from 'Minestry of Sound' - mostly house but also some hard electronic in between the soft house. I'm totally into the more italian electro with a lot of synthesizer - Mauro Picotto and DJ Tiesto makes some serious great stuff in this genre.

Yeah, I like Mauro Picotto and DJ Tiesto, they feature a lot on the Gatecrasher albums, along with Blank & Jones, Paul Oakenfield, Paul Van Dyk and Armand Van Helden. Thanks for that

I saw Ferry Corsten here for the 4th time here in Edmonton last night. He's one of my favorite DJ's along with PVD, Armin, Menno De Jong, and anything from Anjunabeats and the boys from Above and Beyond.

This takes me back to some heavy nights out. I used to be a regular at Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound and Gods Kitchen.

 

If you don't already own it, you have to buy Bunka by Paul Oakenfold. Only the White Album by the Beatles will change your life as much as this.

 

You can't go wrong with anything from D.J Tiesto, D.J Sasha, BT, Paul Van Dyk, Armand Van Helden etc.

 

I find things like Ian Van Dahl and Da Rude a bit cheesy but it's each to their own.

 

Papua New Guinea by Future Sound of London and Cafe Del Mar by Energy 52 are the two best tunes to finish a night on.

Do a search for Laggered, from New Zealand and Australia. They are a compilation modelled after the Gatecrasher series.

 

They are pretty darn good!

 

I like more the Trance than Techno, but I love all the Gatecrasher stuff so maybe our tastes are somewhat similar?

 

I thrash my Laggered music, and the Gatecrasher stuff, its timeless.
