What am I?  Chopped liver?  I've been saying good things about that ball since November. 😉  🙂  😂

Sorry. So I played five holes today with the one Kirkland I had before I lost it. I had a quintuple bogey on the first hole. Apparently I had never woken up this morning. On the second hole, par 5, I hit my second shot to within 8 feet. Closest ever for me on a par 5 2nd shot. Missed the putt but got the birdie. It’s more firm than what I’m used to playing, but I do plan on playing it more.

Played 9 holes with the RS yesterday and I must say I am very impressed. Distance off the tee is really good. The silver were really spinny for me off the woods. The short game feel and spin isn’t quite pro v1 level but I think it is very good and it feels good off the putter. For the money, I don’t think you can find a better ball.

Yeah I think this is about right. Feel is off a little bit as well. It's not that marshmallow Chrome Soft but, not the Left dash marble. Somewhere between the 2 exactly but not a V1 / V1X. It's a weird ball to peg the feel on. I didn't like it short-game wise. I didn't hate it long-game wise. But I never loved it on any level. It's legitimately the "decent ball" on every level.

Kirkland...The "decent" Brand.

I've used Kirklands on and off for several years. I'd agree with "decent." Not sure I'd use it in a round that really mattered but I don't really feel like I lose anything using them.

I was a big OG Ksig fan, and an even bigger hater of the silver box 3-layer ball. Giving this new version a shot and it performed pretty well for nine holes yesterday in some pretty windy conditions. Can't come to a real conclusion yet, but initial performance and durability was good to me.

Still waiting for the yellow ones to show up in stores here

Same. I left feedback for the store that people claim the people in charge of ordering read. Ours barely even has any of the white ones but they have pallets of the Calloway Hex Tours.

I have 2 stores, both about 15 minutes from me. Both have an almost full pallet of the white ones still. Denver stores always seem to get the golf stuff really late or never.

Same here. Have 4 stores within 30 minutes and they have zero yellows but loads of Hex Tours.

July 4th deal.

Buy 2x2 dozen for $15 off shipped.

54.98 for 4 dozen balls.

So, basically $1 less than in store.

Must resist!  Must resist!  I have too many balls!!!

$1 off store price is good, but not cheap enough to justify another ball purchase.  Thank heavens...

I've gone back through the thread as much as I can stand (dozens of pages) and still haven't found what I want to know so I'll ask directly. How does the RS feel/sound compared to the SS? Easy it softer more muted? I hate the sound and feel of the SS and find it has a low flight for me. Is the RS the same?

Yeah, its only a deal if you don't live near a warehouse or you want yellows.  I haven't seen them around here but I'm good with white.

Its moderately clicky to me but opinions might vary on that, everyone's perception is different.  I think you'd be in the minority with a low flight off the spinny SS.  I'm good with the flight of either so I can't help there but I do think the RS is very good. It goes as far as I feel like it should and it works great around the green.  Value is off the chart, that much is certain.  I'd say durability is average in my experience.

The more you buy the more you save, lol.  You don't even have to go to the store and deal with lines or shoppers blocking the aisle while loading up on free samples.

It's a big win all the way around.

Mostly Wishon with a few Tour Edge Exotics, Cobra, Cleveland, and one Odyssey mixed in.

Click is how I would describe the SS. I prefer a soft feel/sound. Still working through my Duo Pro stash, like the 50, Cally Supersoft, Chromesoft, etc.

Same. I've got almost 6doz yellow and 2doz white, so this is good but not going to move the needle.

Of course, it helps that I'm in warehouse on a weekly basis and they typically have plenty of stock of both colors, so I'm not limited to online.

I have a pretty decent collection of the Kirkland balls, and I played a couple of holes this weekend to do a side-by-side comparison with the new RS, the SS, and the "dot and arrow" version which I think is the silver box 3-piece, so I will refer to it as SB. Off the driver and woods the RS is considerably better in feel, spin, and distance. comparatively the SS and SB are much spinnier off of the woods. the SB sounds HARD but doesn't IMO feel as hard as it sounds. the SS is slightly more muted but harder feeling than it sounds. so they are "flipped." the RS feels and sounds "like a ProV1" or how I remember it to sound/feel. I have not done a direct comparison, but in this context it felt "premium."

off the irons the SS and SB make a satisfying "CRACK" sound when you strike them. SS has tons of spin.... in whatever direction you spin it. Expect off hits to be amplified. Its a good ball to practice with because any side spin is going to be much worse. the RS is much better in this regard. all three were satisfying around the green and predictable. all three were kind of clicky off of the putter. RS slightly less so.

I like trying/collecting different balls and I often have access to them, so if you want a comparison of some type from a very average golfer let me know. If you really want to get into the weeds I'm sure I have the SS kirkland in both the Vietnamese version and the Chinese version. they are different in appearance so they might be marginally different in feel...?

I forgot to add the most important part: ball flight.

the SS and SB were comparable. I think the SS spins slightly more off the woods so offline is amplified a bit. both fly quite high for me off of the woods. off the irons the SB was pleasing to watch, and the SS is on a rocket to the moon. the SS must spin a ton off of the irons because it takes what seems like forever to land. very floaty. I have played the SS extensively over the last year as I got a box of Kirkland SS balls from just about every family member as a gift, :classic_laugh: I can say that I've almost never gotten what I would consider a "penetrating" ball flight from any Kirkland SS ball I've hit, except for off of the driver, though I tend to hit the ball high with irons. the good is that I have stuck some shots that I was sure were gonna roll up and over the green, but they just hit with a dull "plop" and stay pretty much where they landed.

Comparatively the RS is a huge improvement. the ball flight off of the driver and woods is satisfying to watch and seems to really jump out into the air instead of up into orbit. heel and toe shots are offline but not nearly as much as the SS. what turned out to be somewhere in the rough with the RS would be catastrophic with the SS. off of the irons the RS is pleasing though not on a direct trajectory to orbit like the SS. they also don't do the "floaty landing" type of thing that I experience often with the SS, though they land with enough spin to stay put.

Missed it bummer. Wanting to try the yellows and they are not in stock at any stores near me.

I played with the Kirkland for holes 2 thru 14 today. Then dunked it in the water on 15. Had 10 pars during that 13 hole stretch. Seven in a row. Both personal bests for me over 18 holes. I see no reason why I should not play this ball every round going forward. Now I have to figure out what to do with all the Maxfli and TP5 balls I stocked up on.

I've been comparing the RS (red stripe) new Kirkland to the Maxfli Tour S ball.  I normally do short game testing first and that's what I've done the last couple days.  I'll play a round with it tomorrow so I'll see how it does with the driver and irons at that time.

Two Kirkland's vs two Maxfli Tour S

Chipping - I didn't notice a lot of difference between the two balls, but I would have to give the edge to Maxfli Tour S.  Just seemed like it was spinning more because it was not rolling out as much.  On a scale of 10, I'd give the Maxfli Tour S an 8 and the Kirkland a 7.

Putting - This is where I notice the most significant difference.  The Maxfli definitely reacted to the strike better.  By that I mean, it definitely rolled further than the Kirkland when struck with the same force.  I think you can adjust to that given enough practice with the Kirkland but it was noticeable enough that I would have to adjust how much force I struck the Kirkland with in order to match the rollout of the Maxfli.  I could almost say they were even on putting but maybe a slight edge to the Maxfli.

Feel and sound - The Kirkland definitely sounds and feels different.  It sort of has a plasticky click when struck with the putter.  Not noticeable with the wedge.  It even felt softer than the Maxfli off the putter, but I really think this was attributed to the clicky sound.  This was a kind of a turn off for me.  I much preferred the muted sound of the Maxfli off the putter.

I think the Kirkland is a much improved ball over previous models which I did not care for, but because I think it would take a while to adjust to some of the differences I saw and felt, I wouldn't switch to it unless the driver and iron play is better than the Maxfli Tour S.  If I can game some distance with these, then it will make the decision much more difficult, especially considering the difference in price - the Maxfli Tour S when purchased in the 4 dozen pack is about $30 per dozen and twice as much as the Kirkland.  Price is not a concern to me, I'm more about performance and feel is a big part of that equation.

After a full 18 round test on Sunday, I have to say that this is a great ball for the price. Premium ball performance with really good durability. The OG KSig still reigns supreme, but this version of the 3pc is light years better than the previous model that spun so much it could start a tornado on a cloudy day.

I played on Sunday, pulling a Kirkland out of the bag on the first tee.  Had a great day, for me.  Three birdies...which is one more than my double bogey count, so a WIN!

Later in the round, I noticed that I was playing a silver box Ksig, not the Red Stripe.  Ha ha.  In my experience, the silver box plays pretty well.  It was the version before silver, what was it called?, that spun like crazy.  Silver box did spin more than red box, but it wasn't as bad as you mention here.
