Heavier iron shaft options

Have DG S300 shafts that are getting too flexible. Too high of a flight. I tried some PX 6.0 and I am missing the weight of the DG shaft.

 

So with a 130 grain shaft - what are the options in a new shaft that have some of the new technology? DG S400 is an option but I am thinking I may want to look at other options.

DG X100 is the overwhelmingly most popular shaft on the PGA Tour. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

if you hit it high with lots of spin the C-Tapers are outstanding shafts

Looking for an FCM of about 6.0 maybe a little higher. Lots of 120g options but want that weight.

If you really want some weight, see about locating some Super Peening Blues. They're in the 125-130g weight class, but that's with a shorter raw length than most shafts, resulting in a bit higher cut weight.

 

They're not easy to find, but you might be able to track some down here or there...

Why? It's a meaningless number (doesn't accurately represent feel) when comparing shafts with different bend profiles.

I do believe bend profile is more important than anything else: CPM numbers, weights, etc.

 

Having said that, if you need a heavier S300, try Modus 125 or, if you have access to one, NS Pro Prototype C10.

I did the same. I launch it a little lower than the S300 (with less spin too) and so far have been hitting them with more accuracy. Plenty of feel in the KBS Tour X as well.

You should take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum. There is a nice shaft chart. The PX 6.0 is FCM 6.5 which is the same as x100 soft stepped. I don't think heavy shafts are difficult to make or need to be exotic. The tried and true fits right where you want to be.

Yeah i hear you guys. Just reading about loading zones and heat treated technology. Am i missing out as DG has been around forever. For a reason mind you.
