I'm down from Nov 4 to 14 and then from Dec 15 to Jan 2.

Looks like Aguila should be decent for the November trip.

Question

Are most courses in poor condition post/pre overseed ( 1 week prior)?

I've scheduled my 1st ever round at Wickemburg on my way into town ( always drive through and have never had the chance to play) for Sunday 10/3 @ 9:00a.m. if anyone is interested in joining me!

$65 is steal aside from the drive up for most, I hate playing golf for without something on it, would love to have someone join me who would like to play for a few bucks. I'm a 6.9 index come on guys lets tear this place up LOL over seeding starts the following week.

I'm also trying to find a game for midweek.

I don't see Ahwatukee on there. Was thinking about playing it next time i'm in town. Anyone have info on conditions/overseed? Have a buddies trip we do in October so this is key to finding where to play. Thanks for posting.

Question

Are most courses in poor condition post/pre overseed ( 1 week prior)?

Based on some helpful feedback from WRX'ers, I try to wait until 6 weeks post overseed before playing on courses. They are usually extremely wet and cart path only until then.

It's "The Ahwatukee Country Club". Wouldn't suggest that course to my worst enemy. I was a junior golfer member out there for about 5 years when it was still in decent shape, it has been sad to see the conditions become the way they are now.

Man i miss the days when ACC kept up the greens. When Fore and I were members the greens were always rolled and true/fast. The rest of the course was never 100% pure but it was fun to play. Small greens that were great to putt on.

The more I look at the schedule and the more I think about my upcoming travel plans and past memories of paying increased rates to play on shag carpet. I might not play another round in PHX until November. Might be a good time to take the green fee money and spend some time with John Kostis at Grayhawk instead.

Last year, I pretty much shut playing down and just hit balls until November I think, thought did make the 1st Apache trip in October.

Really want to play there again, read some recent reviews and maybe it's going to total crap again? I'll play it regardless, I love the property and serenity out there and the design is good enough to overlook the crap.
